Breaking Ice

Chapter 2

Isaac-

We went through all of homeroom and all I could do was stare at her. I've never really had this feeling before, my hands were all sweaty and every time I talked to her I rubbed my hand on my neck.

"What's your schedule" I blurted out of nowhere

"First I have History with Mrs.Miller, Art with Mr.Jax, Geometry with Mrs.Leo and Psychology with Dr.Coleman, English with Mrs.Reed and Ceramics with Mr.Jax also" she smiled

"Would you look at that, you're stuck with me all day" I laughed

"That's so cool, I didn't catch your name" she said nervously

"I'm Isaac" I smiled

"Nice to meet you, your shirt is sick by the way" she smiled

The bell rang signaling the end of homeroom. I introduced Carly to the guys who were all giggling, way to go guys.

We made it into Mrs.Millers class where there were four seater tables. This is going to be fun.

"Mr.Dun, Ms.Dublin, Ms.Joseph and Mr.Duncan you are all at Table 4" Mrs.Miller said pointing to a table

Table 4 squad is now Jacki, Carly, Corey and me. She is going to regret this so quickly.

"Wait did she say Dun and Joseph" Carly said with a smile

"That would be us" I laughed putting my arm around Jacki

"No wonder you are wearing a Twenty One Pilots shirt, the only people who really remember them are people our parents age" Carly said

"I guess" Jacki said

"Your dads" Carly said pointing at us

"Yes Tyler is her dad and Josh was my dad" I laughed

"And here I am the sad son of a man who knows nothing about music who owns a record store" Corey sighed

"Which puzzles me to this day" I smiled sitting next to him

Jacki sat across me and Carly across Corey. The class went on with basic get to know you games where it was mostly learning about Carly and telling embarrassing stories of each other.

"I was 8 can we please stop telling this story to everyone we meet" Jacki said burying her head in Carly

The rest of the day was the same, just with different people, except Carly. We talked about music and different things we liked. She was really into record collecting and other music related things. I was more into CD's and movies but records were cool too.

By the time lunch came around it felt like I had known her my whole life. She was born and raised in Baltimore, but moved here because her dad got a job here.

When we got to the cafeteria she looked lost.

"You can sit with us" I laughed

"Great I was hoping there wasn't going to be a Mean Girls moment" she laughed

"That's only if you catch Xavier on a bad day" I said rubbing my neck

I showed her our table outside before going inside to get food. Sadly she got there before me which meant she was alone with the guys.

"What kind of shady shit did Corey say about me" I asked sitting between Carly and Jacki

"Not much" Corey smiled

"What happened this morning? When we got to the door we heard yelling" Jacki asked

"Just Hades being Hades" I sighed

"I think it's funny that Uncle Josh came up with that even though he didn't want you to call her that" Jacki smiled

"Who's Hades?" Carly asked

"My demon child sister" I sighed

"Oh sorry" Carly said nervously

"It's ok" I smiled

"Kickoff plans this weekend Go!" Quinn said slamming on the table

Every year Quinn thinks the year is only going to be good if he throws a good kick off party. He has everyone shoot out ideas until the day is over and he puts the best ideas together and plans a party, which no one comes to besides us. Every year he goes on about how it's going to be our year, which it never is.

"Ski ball" Jacki yelled for the third year in a row

"Wait so we just yell party ideas at him?" Carly asked confused

"Basically, every time you see him you yell a new idea at him until the end of the day. It's a great game" Xavier laughed

We had the usual ideas, basketball, getting drunk, finding away to torture Hades, and everything else a normal group of teenagers would want to do.

We went on as normal through out the day. Screaming across the hallway to each other when we got a new idea. Hopefully we'll have a good idea and someone other than us will show up.

"So when do we find out the verdict?" Carly asked as we made it to the bus ramp

"Whenever Quinn makes up his mind, the parties on Saturday by the way" I said looking at the bus map

"Here's my number for when he makes a decision" she smiled handing me a piece of paper

"Will do" I said before saluting and walking away

Out of everything I could have done, saluted. Are you fucking serious? The guys were all standing behind me laughing. The whole walk to the bus they made fun of me for it. Then on the bus the guys dug me for details about her.

"Wait did you go to preschool with her?" Corey asked

"Bro I lived there for like 5 minutes and Baltimore is a big city" I laughed

"Very true" Corey grinned

"So are you going to ask her out" Xavier said turning around

"I just met her dude, who knows she might be a lesbian or has a specific type of guy?" I said nervously

"You're scared" Quinn laughed

"Go to hell" I said putting my headphones in

The bus ride was then just them poking at me, why are we the last stop? Finally the worst bus ride in all of history was over.

The guys followed me to my house as usual along with Jacki. We were greeted at the door by Luke and Steve making out.

"Go make out somewhere else" I said pushing them to the stairs

"Headphones kids they were a great thing invented so you won't here adults being adults" Steve smiled grabbing Luke's hand

We all pretend to throw up before heading to the garage. We played some video games until mom came home.
