Isaac's POV:

I was pulled by my collar down the hall.

"Nope you're coming with me" Steve said

"Princess I'm taking Isaac out for Uncle Nephew time" Steve said grabbing his keys

I was then pushed out of the house and into Steve's car. He drove for a while before parking and getting out. I got out and followed him. It was way too dark to see where we are. There was a single street lamp a few feet down making it look like a horror movie.

"Steve where are we" I asked confused

"Come here and sit down" he said patting the side walk

"This is the first place your dad took me when I came to Ohio for the first time, it was for their wedding and there was an ice rink here. An ice rink in the middle of March it was starting to melt but he was so sure we could skate on it. He ended up falling so hard on his ass and breaking the ice" Steve laughed

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked

"Ice I know deep down you're mad at him but he wasn't a bad guy that's what I'm trying to do here" Steve sighed

"Steve I know he wasn't a bad guy but I can't help but be mad at him for leaving us"

"He thought it would be the best thing because he couldn't hold himself together and you needed someone stable"

"Hayden pisses me off so much when it comes to dad. She makes me feel horrible and mom doesn't do anything! I look like him and mom says I act like him. I can't do anything without making mom cry and I can't deal with it anymore that's why I left"

"Hayden is mad that you got to be with your dad and she didn't that's all it is and your mom is just thinking you're going to be like your dad"

"I already am Steve" I muttered under my breath

"Ice no you aren't, I spent so many nights with your dad when he would be so out of his mind and didn't want to show your mom how fragile he was. He drove from Baltimore to New York so many times. Isaac you aren't like him besides your personality and looks." Steve sighed

"I want to tell mom but I don't want her to freak out and baby me"

"I'll tell her if you want and I'll make sure she doesn't baby you"

"Thank you Steve. Thanks for taking me out here and telling me about dad" I said with a sad smile

"Anytime kid" Steve smiled before skipping to the car

We drove home quietly and all the lights were out. I went into moms room and said goodnight before going upstairs into my own room. I immediately crashed onto my bed and fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up to pots and pans banging in the kitchen. Changing into new clean clothes I went downstairs. Mom was frantically walking around the kitchen trying to find something, what now.

"Everything cool down here mom?" I asked

"Ya of course honey don't worry" She grinned whipping sweat from her face

"What do you need?" I said walking in further

"Where did the pancake mix go?" she asked flustered

"We used it all on Sunday, I can skate down and get some"

"Can you sweetie thank you"

I went up stairs and grabbed my skate board and my vans. For safe measures I yelled that I was going to the store and left. The ride there was nice the light breeze kept me from sweating. There was someone up ahead of me so I tried switching sides of the side walk so I wouldn't fall, that didn't work so well. I fell straight onto my back and felt like I was dying.

"Fuck" I screeched

"Isaac is that you" A girls voice said, it was Carly

"Sadly" I winced

"I'm so sorry are you okay" she asked frantically

"My back hurts so bad"

"Here let me check" she said carefully pushing me onto my side

She lifted up the back of my shirt and I instantly cringed at the cool air hitting it.

"There's a big ass rock under you, holy shit you're bleeding" She said with a sad smile "I'll call my dad to bring you home"

"No don't I'll be fine can you help me up" I said putting my arm out

With the best she could she lifted me up off the ground and I felt a sharp pain go through my back.

"I'm calling my dad sit down" she said patting my shoulder

Next thing I knew Carly's dad was here and helping me get in the car. He drove me home and mom freaked out. Hayden was more disappointed I didn't get any pancake mix than my injuries. Mom being who she is drove me to the hospital. I've been to the hospital more times in my life than any 15 year old should.

Nothing horrible was wrong I had just pinched a nerve in my back, scrapes here and there and soon to be bruises.

"What happened" She asked finally

"I was skating down Flint and Carly was on her bike and I tried switching sides so I wouldn't run into her and despite my effort I fell on a big ass rock" I explained

"Oh honey you are staying home today you're already late" Mom said

"Mom I'll be fine it's only the second day"

"No you are staying home and not ifs or buts about it"

We got home and Luke helped me up the stairs to my room. I was bombarded with texts from Quinn and Corey. Most of the texts were about Carly but non the less they were worried about me.

I spent the rest of the night reading Alternative Press and listening to music. Later on in the night Steve came in to my room to check if I was doing ok, mostly because of our chat last night.
