Isaac's POV:
Mom, Luke and Steve came back a few weeks ago and it's been pretty boring. Steve's never home. Luke is always up in their room working on the play. Mom and Travis are always together, it's kind of gross.
I'm starting to think that Carly wants to break up but it could just be my head. Jacki and her have been hanging out a lot more now that she's officially come out to the whole group. Ty and Jenna still don't know. I'm going over there Tuesday and she's going to tell them. They are really chill about everything so I doubt they will freak out.
"Isaac, Hayden come down here" Luke yelled
"What" I yelled back
"Stevo and I are taking you to dinner. Get your asses in the car" Luke yelled
"Didn't Steve's car get totaled"
"It's fixed now stop being a dick and get in the car. We're trying to be nice"
"Ahg" I groaned
I put on my slip on Vans and brushed over my hair. On the way down the stairs I yelled for Hayden to hurry up. We met Steve and Luke in the car and headed out to where ever.
We kept driving and driving. Nothing around us looked familiar.
"Where are we going Steve" Hayden asked
"Are you trying to kill us" I asked
"If I wanted to kill you I would have done that years ago" Steve laughed
"The place is in town don't worry" Luke smiled
"Why do we live so far out of town? Why couldn't we just have gone to Mrs.Pattys" I complained
"I'm trying to be a good uncle let me live" Steve laughed
We continued driving before we pulled into a parking lot of a restaurant I've never been to. It has stacked bricks out front and little trees on the roof.
"Hold up are you telling me your mom never took you to Carrabba's. Your mother has deprived you of the best Italian food ever" Steve said in outrage
"Can I just get some food I'm starving Steven" Hayden laughed
"Four for CapaSon" Luke smiled at he host
"Right this way sir" the host said walking us to a table
We ordered our drinks and food, then Luke had a serious look on his face. Did he find the bag of weed I hid under my mattress? Or the bottle of Rum at the top of my closet.
"You guys have a lot of questions." Steve said also getting serious
"About what?" Hayden asked confused
"Your dad, Stevo here accidentally picked up your journal Ice and read the letter to Josh" Luke confessed
"I thought we weren't going to mention that" Steve said grumpily
"I don't have any questions I was there, he didn't want anything to do with us so instead of doing the reasonable thing and running he died" I shrugged
"You know it's much more complicated than that" Luke said
"I don't care Luke. I could honestly care less. It happened 12 years ago."
"Ice it hurts you I can tell. He was your hero when you were little. You thrived off of everything he said to you"
"I was four years old Steve I thrived off what the ice cream man said to me"
"Was he nice" Hayden spoke up
"He was amazing, he had his magic to him that lit up every room he walked into, he was able to make every bad situation into something good" Steve beamed
"I have a habit of kissing people I open up to because I get really vulnerable and it was really easy to open up to Josh so we kissed a few times and he never held it over me" Luke smiled
Hayden laughed at that
"It was the day after his bachelor party and Steve and I had been having problems so I vented about it and when he gave me advice I kissed him and he just hugged me really tight"
"The more I think about him the more I think he was gay" Luke laughed
"He liked fucking Amelia too much to be gay" Steve shrugged
"That disgusting jeez Steve" I said cringing
"It's true" he smiled
After the most awkward conversation of my life our food came. We finally had a period of silence as we ate. I seriously have no idea why Steve thought driving an hour into town would be a good idea just for some Italian food. Steve and Luke asked us about school and me about college plans. Yikes. I guess I'll just go to OSU to make films and stuff. I have like two year before I need to apply. Yeah.
The night seemed to drag on forever. Driving back seemed to last days. Never again will I agree to go to dinner with them unless it's in the city. I may have just ate my weight in pasta but damn I'm craving a milkshake. The drive was filled with Steve and Luke screaming the lyrics to every The Maine song there was.
"WE'VE GOT CHAMPAGNE TASTE BUT NOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR THE REAL THING" Luke sang
"WE'VE GOT FLAMES IN OUR VEINS AND JUST ENOUGH MONEY FOR THE WEEKEND" Steve sang
Fucking emos.
The rest of the drive was filled with screeching as they 'sang'. Hayden joined in once they started playing Moose Blood and Knuckle Puck. I'm so glad they introduced me to good music. So many of the bands I listen to now don't make any new music which sucks, hoping for another pop punk revival like there was in 2016.
Pop Punk is such an important genre.

A/NSorry this one is so short I kind of hit a block. I'm writing a short story for my Creative Writing class so if you want to read it when it's done I'll post it?
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed. I can't believe Tyler is 28.
Q: Should I post the short story?
