Breaking Ice

Chapter 10

-October-

Homecoming was next week and we still haven't figured out if we are going or not. I would only go if Carly went with me, as a date.

"Isaac honey are you going to hoco" Mom asked me

"Mom stop calling it hoco" I said covering my face

"Fine are you going to homecoming" she asked

"I don't know we haven't decided yet we might just hang out at Cors" I said shrugging

"You should go, you didn't go last year" she said crossing her arms

"Go with Carly" Hayden said flatly

"Yeah ask Carly" Mom said

"Mom I don't think she likes me can't we just stop talking about it" I said

"Fine but don't give up before you even try" She said cleaning up the kitchen

I finished up my breakfast and went upstairs to get ready for school. Deciding I didn't care, I threw on my Mayday Parade jumper and ripped jeans. Kissing mom on the forehead I ran out the door to catch the bus.

Things have been looking up since the first week. Everyone has been released off their groundings and I was able to stop the drug tests. Steve had mom set me up with a therapist whom I see every Thursday.

"Isaac come here!" Corey yelled from the back of the bus

"When are you going to ask Carly to homecoming she's starting to think about going with someone else?" Jacki asked

"Does she even like me to begin with?" I asked

"Honestly Dun stop being stupid and just ask her out I've got a white rose for you to give her, it's her favorite" Xavier said pulling a flower out from behind him

"Fucking magician" I said shaking my head

"It's what I do best my friend" Xavier smirked

    Carly hadn't been riding the bus in the mornings lately. She had breakfast with her Aunt and got driven to school.

  As always we arrived early to school. We hung out in front by the flag pole until Carly got there. As soon as she came over to us the guys remembered that they "had to turn in something." I hate them so much.

"Uh so uh homecoming's coming up" I said rocking on my heals and rubbing my neck

"You don't say" she smiled

"I was wondering if you know if you didn't have a date already if you would want to go with me?" I said very awkwardly

"I'd love to Isaac" she smiled

"Here uh" I said handing her the rose

"You're adorable you know that" she said smelling the rose

"My mom says it quite a bit" I grinned

The bell rang and when we started to walk away she laced her fingers with mine. I could feel the blood rush to my cheeks. When we walked into class Corey and Jacki started pointing at our hands and pretending to faint.

"So you guys dating now" Corey said resting his head on his hands

Are we dating? I mean I want to but does she want to? Being the person I am I started to internally panic, looking between Corey and Carly not knowing what to say.
