Lukes POV:
I could tell Steve was about to hit Josh but I honestly thought his drunkenness would put him off. He usually gets really loving when he's drunk, rarely is he aggressive.
As I pulled him into the bathroom I could hear Amelia and Carter leave.
"Sit" I said glaring at Steve
"Baby I'm sorry" Steve said grabbing my waist
"I know, shh I know" I said running to fingers through his hair
I grabbed some band aids and Neosporin. I started cleaning the blood off his face, him wincing every three seconds.
"I don't want him here" Steve said looking up at me
"I'll go tell him to leave, I don't want him here either if it's going to cause stuff like this. We just got back together and you are still healing from the accident" I said shaking my head
"I'm sorry" Steve said kissing me
I went into the living room and saw Josh washing his cup out in the sink.
"Need help washing your face off?" I asked
"You mind?" He asked with a sorry smile
Steve had gone into the bedroom and I cleaned up Josh's face in the bathroom. Idiots.
"What have you been doing?" I asked
"I was working at a book store in Portland, they sold vinyls and all that jazz" he shrugged "and just in between stuff"
"Amelia was just starting to pull herself together and get her life back"
"I fucked up by coming back didn't I"
"No, all Hayden has wanted her whole life was to meet you she blames herself for you 'dying'. You have no idea"
"I've got to go see them" he said standing up
"Tomorrow. Amelia isn't going to be happy with you showing up this late. It has to be on her terms. It's not like before, Josh. These kids are strong as hell but with something like this it's sure to break them"
"Thank you for letting me stay here" Josh smiled
"About that, uh Steve and I have just gotten back together and"
"Oh I get it" Josh smirked
"No not that, well, besides that Steve is still recovering from a car accident a few months ago and is still in his head and stressed. So it'll be best if you stayed at a hotel or something for the night" I said rocking on my heels. I hate being the bad guy.
"Yeah I totally get it, thanks for the tea and it was really nice to see you guys again. I'm sorry if I broke Steve's nose" Josh said cringing
"It's fine, we'll see you soon though" I smiled, hugging him
Josh grabbed his coat and walked out the door. I feel bad for the guy. He didn't want any of this to happen but did it for the safety of his kids. He's a good guy, we all know it.
I grabbed the gelato from the freezer with two spoons and went into the bedroom with Steve. His face was already starting to swell.
