Breaking Ice

Chapter 19

Isaac's POV:

      Jordan drove us to the hospital. Once we got there Mom and I sprinted in, everyone else following behind.

"I got a call about the condition of Steven CapaSon" Mom said panicked

"Amelia" Luke called over tears streaming down his face

"Lucas what the hell is happening" Mom said rushing over to him

"Something about the surgery not being done right and he had a seizure and had to be brought back into surgery. Amelia I'm so fucking scared right now." Luke said crying into her shoulder

"Fucking hell. We'll be here all night if we have to Luke, I'm not leaving here not knowing if he's ok" Mom said hugging him

"Do you want me to get you guys anything?" Jordan asked "I can stop over your house or the store"

"Can you get my clothes from the house, I am getting a breeze in my ass and my other clothes are covered in blood" Luke said whipping his face

"Anything particular?" Jordan asked

"Dresser by the window, grey pullover in the first drawer and the black shorts on top" Luke said

"I'll be back and i'll bring some food. Ice if anyone needs anything else just text my okay" Jordan said hugging us all

"Could you take me home too, I don't want to be a bother" Carly said

"Yeah you live in the neighborhood right?" Jordan said

"Right down the street, bye Isaac thanks for today Amelia I had fun" Carly said hugging us.

We sat there for a while talking about random stuff to keep our minds occupied. Luke had been released but didn't have a car, and didn't want to leave Steve.

"Mr.Capason" The doctor from yesterday said coming into the waiting room

"Yes" Luke said standing up slowly

"Your husband is in recovery in the ICU right now and still hasn't woken but as of right now he is stable" The doctor said

"Dr.Leon room 172" A nurse said rushing up to him

"Excuse me" The doctor said before rushing away

We were left alone again. Luke started crying again.

"He's okay" Hayden smiled rubbing Luke's back

"172 is the room he was in when he first got admitted to the ICU" Luke cried

"Is he in there again?" I asked

"Probably, fucking hell" Luke said crying

"Shh Malfoy he'll be okay, Steve is the strongest person I've met in my whole life he's been stabbed before dude" Mom laughed

"But not in the lungs Amelia, he kind of needs those to breathe" Luke cried

     Jordan came in with clothes and food as Luke cried into mom. Good thing I wore my sweatpants we were going to be there a while. Luke got up and changed, it was Steve's high school hoodie. It said Capatelli on the back too.

    The doctor came back and explained some more about his condition. He had gotten an infection where they opened him up, which effected his breathing. Apparently it wasn't a common thing. Luke didn't take it well and just wanted to see him. They expect him to make a full recovery but they said that before, and he had a seizure.

"I need to see him, I don't care if he's awake I need to see him" Luke begged the doctor

"Sir he just got out of surgery you'll all be able to see him soon" The doctor said

"That's my husband in there, I don't care if he just got out of surgery. I've been sat here panicking about him for hours, I'm going to go see him one way or another" Luke threatened

"Fine 10 minutes, just you" The doctor said caving in

Luke got up really quick and fast walked to Steve's room. I really hope Steve will be okay. I don't think I could handle another person dying. I've already had to deal with grandpa even though I was young, Dad, Pepper, and Grandma El. I didn't want to add Steve to that list. He was like my father figure, I've spent more time with Steve than I did dad.

     Hospitals make you think about things. You see women going in to give birth, people learning a family or friend died, and people covered in blood. It's fast moving but slow at the same time.

Luke came back twenty minutes later and had the worlds biggest grin.

"What the fuck happened Lucas" Mom laughed

"He woke up and asked if we could do something when he gets better, it's not dirty by the way, but I'm so fucking happy" Luke grinned

"What was it?" Hayden asked

"I'll wait until we both can tell you" Luke smiled

"Do you want to go home? or stay here" Mom asked

"Yea I need to get out of here it smells like death and sadness" Luke smiled grabbing her hand

The four of us left and dropped Jordan off at grandmas. We were exhausted, mom said I could go in to school late tomorrow. We are all planning our Halloween party tomorrow at lunch. Since Halloween was on a Wednesday we were having it this Saturday night.

"Can I sleep in your bed Ahme?" Luke asked mom

"Like old times?" Mom smiled

     Mom tucked Hayden and I in before going down to her room with Luke. I texted everyone that I'd be going in late tomorrow. I was way too exhausted to type anything coherent so all it said was: "me late 2m" Hopefully they all understood.
