Chapter 48

Isaacs POV:

    When Hayden got home we all got dressed for dinner. I really didn't want to go because I still had to get ready for midterms.

It was finally getting cold outside, Its the middle of December you would think it would be snowing already. The leaves were crunchy and the air was crisp, which has brightened up my mood a bit. Mom was waiting downstairs for Hayden and I.

"I still can't believe you let her do this" Mom laughed running her fingers through my hair.

"I'm surprised it came out so good" I smiled moving my hair back.

"Hayden hurry up we're gonna be late!" Mom yelled

"Fine calm down" Hayden said coming down the stairs

  The three of us got in the car and drove down to Patty's, everyone's favorite place. Luke's truck was already in the parking lot, they were early for once. Next to them was a car with 'SPOOKY' as the license plate. Is dad here? I don't want to go in there if he is. My whole life I've thought he was dead and now he shows up.

"Mom. Is dad in there?" I asked stepping back

"Yeah. I wanted you guys to meet up." She said tears forming

"I can't go in there. What do I even say?"

"He really wants to see you Ice. You can say what ever you want. It doesn't have to be nice cause I know you don't want to be nice" she said

I took a deep breathe before I opened the door for mom and Hayden. As I walked in my chest got tight and my heart started beating. Luke, Steve and Dad were sitting at a table in the back.

"Hi sweetheart" Mrs.Patty smiled kissing my forehead "it'll be alright"

"Thanks" I sighed before following them to the table.

We all sat there awkwardly waiting for someone to say something.

"I think I'm gonna get a veggie burger" Luke smiled "switch it up a bit"

"Still a vegetarian?" Dad asked

"I do my best" He smiles

"Your hair looks amazing Hayden" Dad smiled

"Thanks" Hayden whispered

"Why now?" I asked

"What?" He said scrunching his eyebrows together

"Why did you come back now"

"Uh I needed to get out of Portland and I felt like it was a good time to come back and try to patch things up"

"You left us"

"I'm sorry Isaac this wasn't my plan for you guys. You both meant the world to me but it was better for me not to be in your life. I wasn't the man you deserved you three needed someone more than me"

"What the hell even happened"

"I was extremely depressed and I got myself mixed into some sketchy situations. I wanted to die, I'm not going to lie to you. And you were being put in danger for my mistakes."
