Harder to Breathe #20
Cielo"Be sure to pick us up around eleven, tapos na check-up ni Pogi nun!" I reminded Kuya. He arrived in Manila two days ago at nabigla na lang ako na dito na siya natulog kagabi sa bahay. I'm not sure kung alam na ni Mommy at Daddy ang tungkol dito pero tingin ko wala pa silang idea.
Kuya looked at his wrist watch matapos marinig ang sinabi ko. He was looking at it na parang iniisa isa sa isip niya ang schedule niya ngayong araw. "Can you make it?" tanong ko sa kanya matapos siyang hindi makasagot agad.
"Yes, I'll be there before lunch. Just update me."
"Make sure ah! Wala akong sasakyan!" He looked at me na parang ang hopeless hopeless ko, I brushed him off. "Alam ko tutol ka sa pag mo motor ko pero mas convenient iyon sa trabaho ko at mas mababa ang maintenance kesa kotse. Pang bayad nga ng apartment nasho-short ako eh, pang maintenance pa kaya ng sasakyan?"
I heard his deep sigh. My brother is not the type of person who frequently nags pero when he does it, he would really makes you think about your existence, twice.
"Look, you don't have to worry about me. Ganito lang ako pero never ko talagang naging issue ang pera. I love what I have and where I am now."
"I'm not worried at all," he simply replied at muntik na akong mahulog sa kinauupuan ko dahil doon. "Look, I will not question your decisions in life as long as that will make you stay alive."
"Ah! I'm touched Kuya. Really." sarcastically replied.
I was about to turn my back at him when he spoke again. "Rylle called me." Napatigil ako sa paglalakad dahil doon. Tsk! Bwisit talaga ang lalaking iyon!
"Ah what made you stay here pala?" pag-iiba ko ng usapan. "After I sent those photos to you, you seemed interested na dito sa lugar."
When Kuya was in the province and I started taking care of Pogi, I regularly sent him photos, lalo na when we walked around the subdivision and when Pogi played with the little girl that lives in-front of us. Keysha. One time, she even spelled her first name to me and taught me how to pronounce it right. I don't remember her full name though but she keeps on petting Pogi whenever magkikita kami sa park. Pogi seemed to like her too.
"N-Nothing." He stood up and turned his back at me. "I think it would be better if I'll stay with you for the mean time."
"Huh?" Ayoko Kuya!"
"Shut up. You're too loud."
It wasn't too long ago when Kuya left and umalis na rin kami ni Pogi. We took a cab papunta sa vet clinic, we arrived earlier than his scheduled check up, mabuti na lang wala pang ibang dumating kaya siya na rin ang inuna.
The clinic offers grooming services din. "Doc, charge mo na lang kay Kuya." He laughed at me matapos kong sabihin iyon.
I clicked my tongue and went inside the clinic. "Doc, pick-up ko na lang si Pogi later. Emergency lang po."
"Sure, no problem."
Since Ate Chloe became the current COO, lalo nang naging hassle ang buhay ko. She demands me to work for the company and I just keep on refusing her. I don't want to work for the company not because I hate being a Del Rosario but because I just feel like I don't belong there.
