Day 1:

I remember meeting you for the first time and thinking how beautiful you looked in that white sundress – both your shoulders exposed to the sun and your legs looked as though they could go on for miles.

By God, did you make a first impression on me.

I remember saying to myself that this wasn't the girl in the papers and online articles.

This wasn't that girl that spent most of her childhood hunched over on piles and piles of books so that she could graduate high school by the age of thirteen, and earn a PhD in Neuroscience by the age of twenty-one.

It couldn't be...

But then before I could even utter a single word to a fellow coworker that stood near me, you caught my gaze and frowned – wasting no time in making your way over to where I stood. "You're late." You scolded, crossing your arms over the ruffled fabric that laid on your chest.

You were wrong. I was on time.

I made sure I was.

But the phrase "on time" I had come to know had a different meaning for you, and I could still hear your voice explaining to me; "Mr. Faulkerson, being on time is late. You've missed half of the social interaction simply because you were on time."

And of course, you were the life of the party that day, spending the whole informal lunch meeting reminding me that I was the late one through a series of jokes. One would have thought you would have been out by the first hour, but you kept on spitting out one after another.

I mean for pete's sake, mahal, it was just small meeting the company – which my father owned – organized for his new branch of research team to have so that they could get to know each other. It wasn't as though we were actually on the clock. We were socializing.

You didn't care that we were strangers, or the fact that I was your boss's son. You had something on your mind and you said it. Hell, you even made me the punchline of each of your jokes.

And you know what? That mouth of yours was what caught my attention the most that day.

It wasn't your tanned skinned, that was barely covered by your off-the-shoulder dress, nor was it your brain's capability to spit out random facts about whatever topic it was that was brought up that day – though, I have to admit, it was pretty impressive.

Your beauty caught my eyes, but it was your personality that captured my heart. And as cheesy as it sounds, after the second joke about me being my father's careless heir of the company, I knew that you were someone I would love to take out for dinner.

You proved every expectations I had of you wrong that day.

Day 20:

My father assigned you as the team's lead researcher – and of course, it was no surprise. At least to everyone in the room but you.

You cried.

I laughed.

You hit me... and continued to cry.

For someone who seemed so tough, you were nothing but a cute little blubber ball. You know you're a genius. You've a got a plaque hanging in every inch of your house to prove so. But you still went on crying and trying to push my dad to give the title to me. And as flattering as it seemed, we all knew that I was nowhere near deserving such a high title.
