"Maine, we have a new patient coming in. His room's going to be in your route, so put his name on your list. Don't forget," Ruby said as she walked in in the nurses' station. Maine was relatively new in the institutebut she's slowly getting used to the center's rules and regulations. She was also getting on with the other nurses and the pioneers. They all liked her bubbly personality, falling in love with her jokes and antics.
The other patients were fond of her as well. Some of them asked to have her as their caretaker and had thrown tantrums when they said no, but when Maine settled them down and talked to them, they were okay again.Maine made sure to take a few minutes of everyday to bond with them, just to keep her end of the bargain.
"Sige po, I'll take note after my break," she replied to her head. "Lalaki o babae?"
"Lalaki. Nabasa ko na kalmado naman most of the time so I don't think he'll be a problem but be sure to have a sedative, house rules," Ruby patted her back and left the room again. Maine munched on her sandwich and plugged her earphones in.
"I fell in love with a beautiful boy and he still takes my breath away..." the music started.

Richard looked around the square room he had been assigned in. The walls were painted blue, and it has one window. There were shelves on left wall, his bed on the right. The bed cover was white too, but the nurse that led him here said he could change the beddings should he wish and if he brought any. He didn't; they didn't give him anything except his clothes when they dropped him off. They were scared of him, so why would they care?
He has his own bathroom and there are soaps and shampoos in the cupboard under the sink. Bath towels and face towels were hung near the shower. The room was provided with a drawer where he can keep his clothes in. He wished he grabbed a book, any one, with him before they dragged him out the house. Or at least that one photo of his mom he has on his nightstand. But alas, he had nothing. He was just thankful that they didn't kill him on their way here. They couldve dropped him while the car was speeding on the highway. They would've loved to have him gone, he knows.
And he wished they did just that. He had no purpose anyway, so what was the point of him living? He was depressed, he had no motivation. He had no reason to keep going on his life. He was a big piece of nothing.
He walked and stood by the window. He saw green; there were a lot of trees. But when he squinted his eyes, he saw the wall that it covers. So he was trapped here, he wont be able to escape. There's no way out.
He looked down and saw people wearing the same scrubs and some wearing a different color. He was provided one of those green ones, the ones for the people that were left here. The blue people must be their carers. He wants to wear the blue, not the green. But again, he had no choice but to follow the rules they gave him ifhe wants to live.
He started to walk away but stopped when he saw a woman in a blue scrub, sporting a high ponytail and a wide smile on her face. She was accompanying an elder to a bench and together, they sat down and talked. He sighed and turned away, grabbing his bag off the floor and started to unpack.
