I have always preferred dawn over dusk. I like waking up early for a run up the hill where I can eat Dad's prepared sandwich the night before while watching the sun rise and the neighborhood come to life, then just taking my precious time walking downhill, buy some cheap iced coffee from the convenient store, and some eggs and milk for Dad and Riza. I like it like that.

Still a dawn person but I'm looking forward to every dusk now! I log out from the office almost the same time she gets to go home from her internship. I think I made a new friend. Ma, I think I made a best friend out of a stranger! I can cross that one out from the list now, yeah?

Nothing beats free food, she said. I say nothing beats fun times with someone who can effortlessly make me pay for her carbonara and Hawaiian pizza, mocha frappe with jelly, and triple scoop chocolate chip mint ice cream lunch when I'm trying to save up for an authentic Iron Man figure. She would just show me that wide smile of hers, mocking me, saying without words that she got me wrapped around her fingers. Annoying but true. She's got a firm hold on me now, and I don't even know how it happened.

I don't get it why people are scared of thunder but are fascinated by lightning. You're terrified of something that won't do you any harm. It's that thing that you admire that can kill you, you know.
