How Corruption works...

I always wondered how corruption works. Like I know of a few ways a 

1- Damaged Gem: Amethyst was falling apart when her gem cracked. There was a chance of her dying or becoming corrupted herself. Not to mention the other gems running around from the rebellion

2- Stress: Amethyst: again, rushed her form. The amount of stress she put on herself almost corrupted her. 

3- Corrupting Light: The Diamond Authority made a last ditch effort to win the war. They sent what could only be described as a light/ song. This somehow caused many gems to become corrupted. 

4- Secondhand: "Earthlings" revealed that secondhand corruption can occur to a non-corrupted Gem through fusion with a corrupted one as Jasper started corrupting after fusing with the Snow Monster and forming a semi-corrupted fusion. When Gems fuse, their bodies and minds become one. This creates an entirely different entity, as opposed to two minds sharing a single body. Meaning they could possibly be sharing memories.

Garnet's description of the difference between cracked and corrupted gems in "Monster Reunion" is spot on. Where gem cracking can be represented by significant physical damage, gem corruption could be representative of mental damage. So the last possible way of becoming corrupted is pretty much spot on, but also by her own emotional stress. 

Let me explain. When the Diamonds sent the Corrupting Light/ Song to Earth, Rose saved everyone who was close to her with her shield. The sound caused those who were nowhere near Rose to loose their minds and become corrupted. Poofing them sort of helped, but because they reform based on their last memory. They start as Humanoid but then their memories came flooding in.

Jasper's corruption was caused no different.But do keep in mind that Jasper's corruption may have been amplified by her rage towards Rose Quartz, coupled with the fact that she had once again lost to a Crystal Gem fusion and had been abandoned by her fusion partner. When Jasper  fused with the corrupted gem, their memories back hers, and vice verse. When they unfused, Jasper's emotional state amplified it. So stress and the song did it in for her. 

I theorize that Steven can save these gems. He was able to heal Centipeedle.....sort of....and before she reverted back. That means he could possibly heal the others, but not physically. They have the memory of the Corrupting Light. If Steven is able to enter their mind to find that memory and reverse the sound with his dad's equipment. Steven is immune to gem technology, so they is a chance that he is immune to whatever cause the corruption.
