Did I spell that right? Anyway Pearl and Amethyst. Literally one of the first ships of Steven Universe. And possibly a favorite of many fans of the show. I mean look at them!
They are that one couple that you think are just friends due to their clashing personalities. Whereas Pearl is calm ( for the most part) and the responsible one, Amethyst is wild and immature. I was shipping them before I even knew of Ruby and Sapphire.
The only mutual things they have in common is Rose, but I think their feelings were different. Like Amethyst saw her as motherly and Pearl saw her as a savior ( and possible had some sort of romantic feelings for her due to her behavior with Greg) . Plus their own insecurities. Pearl saw herself as just that...a pearl, and Amethyst had some issues, thinking that she's weak and defective ( because Jasper called her overcooked) and due to the fact that Peridot pointed out that she was supposed to be the same size as Jasper, it hurt her a little more. And I could see them growing closer because of this and coming to grow out of them...in Opal.
But what do you guys think of Pearlmethyst?
