Episode Review!!!!!

Today it's Gem Harvest!!!!

So Rebecca gave us a Thanksgiving Special with out asking for it. 

So we got lesbian farmers ( still think Lapidot is nonexistent), a puppy, and a very homophobic, xenophobic( hate immigrants/ foreigners) uncle Andy DeMayo, but I will talk about him another time. 
So the episode begins with the writers revealing to us that Lapis and Peridot grew a few crops. And Steven makes a pumpkin puppy for them. We then meet good ol' uncle Andy, who then yells at Steven, Lapis and Peridot for doing what they did to the barn, even though some of it was accidental. 
The Crystal Gems get Peridot's message and came with Greg, who recognized. Greg explains that they let them into the barn which outrages the man further. Steven asks who the man is, and Greg tells the group that he is his cousin, Andy. Andy, shocked to hear Steven is Greg's son, is baffled by these changes and gives Steven a big hug. He also asks Greg how he was never told about this, which Greg responds he couldn't because he hasn't seen Andy in years. Andy mentions that it was Greg's fault for that since two decades ago, the family drove off in their van with Greg. And it's was reveal that Greg legally changed his name to Universe from DeMayo. They have dinner, and Andy renounces ownership and leaves. Steven and Lapis give chase, and Steven express o Andy that the gems are his family but he was too.

I like that the gems got into doing a Thanksgiving, that probably don't exist in their universe. I like how there was a nod to Halloween, too ,with Andy criticizing Greg for "Giving them the barn like it was some candy giving holiday," Upon being told that the Gems are an alien race, Andy assumed that Greg meant they were illegal immigrants, who are sometimes referred to as illegal aliens. This is technically a correct assumption, as Pearl revealed that they are not legal citizens in "Last One Out of Beach City". AND Connie's mom called it: Steven's family  name technically isn't Universe, but DeMayo . 

All in all it was a nice episode and I hope to see more like it...Or find out that our holidays exist in the world of Steven Universe. I mean New Year's does. I really did think that Gem Harvest was about...well...how Gems used a planet's resources and harvest it to create gems, I was so off on that, but it was still a good episode. 

So I plan to do Three Gems and  A Baby and that New Years episode. It was supposed to be done before Christmas, but you know...2016 is out to get us. And I just found out that Carrie Fisher, the Princess Leia, died... But yeah...anyways I am still waiting on you guys to vote on some possible theories I will be analyzing and criticizing.
