Fair warning I will be giving my full, brutally honest opinion on everything. If you don't like what I say, I'm sorry...but you need to pucker up buttercup, because it's my book.... Just saying.
Lapis Lazuli is a Homeworld gem that was trapped in a mirror for who knows how long. Here's the thing....I don't really pity her...
Here's why...
1. She stole the ocean....most likely more than once. I mean how else would Greg know what she looked like and the background was from an old newspaper, featured in the episode where Ronaldo was obsessing over the weird things that Steven pointed out were the Gems doing.
2. She almost drowned Steven and Connie. She attacked both of them.I'm pretty sure Steven could have lived longer, with him him being half gem, but Connie could have died.
3.She broke Greg's leg. Greg was doing what any father would do if heir kid was in danger.
All because she wanted to go home, plus her gem was cracked. When Amethyst's gem was cracked she started to fall apart immediately. I think she was put in that mirror for her own good. I don't care that she was trapped in their for who knows long. Ruby, Sapphire and Garnet probably had something to do with it, I don't know . All know is, she lead Jasper and Peridot, and now possibly Yellow Diamond to Earth. But the only good that came from this is the Crystal Gems knowledge if the Cluster... That's it. I don't care that she sacrificed her newly found "freedom" to protect Steven. She could have easily sided with the Crystal Gems or at least Steven, and help defeat Jasper, but no. Now she stuck at the bottom of the ocean in an unstable fusion.
And that is my opinion on Lapis Lazuli
