So everyone is freaking out over how small Pink Diamond is, and quite frankly, I don't think she's that small. So instead of a character roast/discussion, It's a pink diamond theory that has nothing to do with Rose.
So I think Pink is Stevonnie size due to it being a dream/memory...dream memory...both? Any way here why I think she's actually roughly the same size as the other diamonds.
Now when it comes to real life diamonds the longer it's in the ground, the bigger it gets. This is due to all the pressure around it. This only applies to diamonds more so than other gems. That's why Amethyst is small compare to the other Famethyst. Now if she is truly that small, it's due to the fact she's undercooked.
And yes, I saw that Stevonnie is at eye level where Pink punched a...mirror...screen....glass....let's just go with glass. But here's the thing, some chapters ago, I mentioned the Diamond are the strongest gems, so if anything, she could have been practicing using her abilities, such as shapeshifting ( which includes changing size) and can theoretically hold it longer than gems below her.
Now going back to that dream/memory thing, it isn't the first time Steven witness something that...how to describe this...This isn't the first mind transfer we've witness. He went into Malachite's mind( and by extension Lapis and Jasper's as well), Blue Diamonds or Pearl I'm still not sure which that caused him to cry with being near them. There was the incident with Kiki and Watermelon Steven. So what's to say he relived a memory of Pink Diamond's but how is a theory all on its own.
Plus think about Steven and Connie. It is possible because they felt how she felt. Connie with her overbearing parents and Steven( and the gems constantly comparing him to his mom) constant worrying that he won't live up to Rose's legacy. Which explain( the Connie part at least) why Yellow started out as Dr. Maheswaran
So to sum everything up, there are three possible reasons:
1- Pink was using her shapeshifting powers in that memory.
2-Symbolism
3-Pink is undercooked.
