Jasper

I walk out of the potty room. "Mommy, Daddy! I did pee-pee all by myself!" I jump on their laps. I frown and sit down when I see Mommy crying, again. "Momma," I whine.

Daddy wraps one arm around me and pulls me down. "Leave Momma alone," he whispers.

"But-"

"I said leave her alone," he says sternly.

I nod my head, leaning against his chest. "Sorry, Daddy," I mumble.

He leans over to kiss Mom's cheek. "You need a nap, babygirl?" He asks softly.

She mumbles a 'yes' before kissing his lips and then my forehead. She walks into hers and Daddy's room. "Is she okay?" I wrap my arms around his arm.

He shrugs, pulling me closer to him. "I hope so, Jasper."

"Why is she acting like a baby?"

"Because it's easier for mommy to have daddy take care of her."

"Can we go lay with her?"

Dad nods, standing up and placing me on his hip. I giggle as he kisses my cheeks all over. I push open the door to the room Mommy's in. Daddy quickly puts me down when he sees her crying on the floor.

"Mommy, what happened?" I go over to them.

She lets out a whine, whispering "daddy".

"You's okay?" I touch her shoulder.

"The rain," she whimpers loudly.

I look up to the window to see that it is in fact, raining. "I's know how to make you better!" I exclaim. "Momma, get on the bed. Daddy, go close the curtains and put The Little Mermaid on for mommy. She needs some cocoa too!"

She laughs at me as dada sets her on the bed. "I'm going to call Justin," he says after placing the remote next to mom. I sit between her legs and snuggle into her belly. "I'm gonna tell him we're staying in tonight, okay? I'll be right back," he kisses both of our foreheads.

I lean my head on Momma's chest. I place my hand on her tummy and look at her face. "Kinny told me what happened. She said there was a baby in your tummy but it went away- that's why you're sad. I just want you to know I love you, Mommy. I don't want you to be sad. If the baby leaved, it's their fault. You're the bestest Mommy ever, don't cry," I move to sit on my knees.

I pout as tears go down her face. "I love you, Jasper," she sobs. I wrap my arms around her neck tightly. "Baby, I love you so much. You make me so happy, you make me smile when I think I can't."

"Jasp?" I turn my head to see Daddy in the doorway. "Uncle Jay wants to know if you want to go with them to the toy store and maybe out to lunch."

"Can I go?" I whisper.

She nods, "if you want to, baby."

I kiss her cheek before jumping off the bed. "Daddy," I walk over to him. "Take care of Mommy, she's sad."

He nods, lifting me off the ground. "Of course, little man. Kinny said that she'll let you call me to tell me if you're going out at lunch."

He kisses my forehead before helping me put on my shoes. We walk down to the lobby. I sit on Daddy's hip as the rain falls outside the hotel.

When Uncle Jay's limo pulls up, I let out an excited giggle. "Hey, bud," he smiles at me.

"H-Hi!" I lean towards him.

He takes me from Daddy's arms. "I'll call you when we leave the shops," Jay says.

Dad nods, "okay... Um- I'm having a hard time with Nes right now, sorry to bail."

He shrugs, "it's cool, man, I understand. We can bring you food if you want."

I squeal, starting to kick my legs. "Yes! I know what mommy likes!"

Uncle Jay chuckles as Daddy sighs. "He's so protective over her," he mumbles.

"Well, that's a good thing. Did you guys talk about that surgery yet?"

"No, I was planning on asking her after he left."

"What surgery?"

"Nothing you need to worry about, little man," daddy kisses my cheek. "I love you. Be a good boy for Jay and Kinny, yeah?"

"Okay."
