Nezther
Tension fills the room. I sit at the table with Jason, Justin, Leigh, Kinsley, and Christina. The girls are looking down at their laps.
I sigh heavily. "Okay, this is bullshit," I huff out. "You do this all the time, Justin. You waltz into our lives and make everyone feel like shit."
"How am I making you feel like shit?" He snaps.
"You're making my best friend and my sister feel like shit! At least they're happy, Justin!"
"I didn't say anything."
Jason chimes in. "You're giving them both dirty looks. I thought you were past the judging and the grudges."
"Kinsley isn't into girls, though. That's why I'm judging."
Jason rolls his eyes. "You don't know that though," he argues. "Why can't you accept that she's in love? She's happy," he says just above a whisper.
Kinsley stands up and walks away. She doesn't say a word, she doesn't look at anyone, she just walks away. Leigh looks up confusedly, frowning when she sees Kin headed for the stairs.
"We've been together since Jason and Nezther's wedding," she finally speaks up. "Not that it's any of your business, but we're quite happy together. It's almost eight months now and I'd like it if you stayed out of my relationship, thanks." With that, she jogs up the stairs.
I smirk, leaning back in my chair with my arms crossed. "Pretty sure that's longer than anytime you and her we're together. She said you kicked her out almost every other month," I chuckle as I lean my head on my husband's shoulder.
"I'm leaving," Justin grunts as he stands up. Christina follows him out of the house.
"Should we check on them?"
I nod, "probably. Kinsley is probably crying," I frown.
We walk upstairs with our hands laced together. We check Leigh's room first to find no one there. Then we open Kinsley's door. "Aw," Jason coos softly.
Leigh sits up slightly against the head board with Kinsley between her legs, her head on her chest. Kinsley's eyes are closed but Leigh looks up at us with worry in her eyes.
"She's been so tired lately," she informs us, taking one hand to brush hair away from Kin's forehead. "Is it a pregnancy thing?"
I shrug, "not for me. But it could be for her. Everyone's body reacts differently," I whisper.
"She's burning up."
"I'll go get some Tylenol and a cold glass of water. Be right back," I smile before turning to walk out.
I walk into the main bathroom and grab a bottle of Tylenol. I then jog downstairs to the kitchen. I grab a tall glass and fill it with ice cold water. I turn to see Jenny rubbing her eyes in the doorway.
"Hi, Mommy," she smiles tiredly.
"Hey, Princess. You still have an hour to sleep," I say softly.
"I's wan' way on da couch," she says and walks away.
I just shrug before making my way upstairs. I kneel next to the bed. "Kin," I rub my best friend's shoulder. "Kinsley, wake up." She opens her eyes to slits. "Take some Tylenol. You're warm," I whisper.
She sits up, grabbing her forehead in the process. "Thanks," she mumbles. I hand her two pills and the glass of water. "He makes me so angry," she looks down at me, "I'm so sorry you guys still have to put up with him. If I never got with him, you two would still be together."
Jason sits next to me. "Don't say that, Kin. If Nezther and Justin were still together, we wouldn't have three amazing children, you wouldn't have ever met Leigh, we wouldn't live in such a beautiful house... Our lives are perfect the way they are," he reaches up to place his hand her knee. "Think of it that way."
"That's a good way to think about it, baby," Leigh chimes in.
Kinsley shrugs, looking down at her lap. "I'm still sorry you have to deal with him," she grumbles.
I stand up off the floor. "We'll give you guys sometime alone," I help my husband up. "C'mon, let's go check on the twins."
We check to make sure that Jenny is still napping before going to Gracie's room. I open the door in the slightest to see her sitting up on her bed. We both step in.
"Why're you up, baby?" I sit on the edge of her bed.
She blinks a few times, then rubs her eyes. "My chest ," she mumbles.
Jason looks at me with concern in his eyes. "You're going to the heart doctor tomorrow, Grace. Do you think you can wait until then? If not, we can bring you now," he reaches to grab her hand.
"I s'ink I can wait," she slurs.
I pull her into my lap. "How about you come downstairs with us?" She nods, closing her eyes. "Okay, let's go," I lift her up.
She sits in my lap as I sit beside Jason on the couch. "Jasper should be home in ten minutes. Do you guys wanna walk to go get him?" I nod, placing Gracie on my hip. "I think we should go out to eat tonight. Like everyone, the kids, Kinsley and Leigh, we can ask Abel and Keira to go. You wanna do that?"
"Yeah, sounds fun," I say as I slide on my shoes.
"DADDY!" Jenny wails.
Grace huffs, tucking her head into my neck. I rub her back as my husband runs up the stairs. "We can go get Jasper, Soldier."
VERY IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE AHEAD!!
I'm at a crossroad right now. I've had four people message me and ask if I can put in a Leigh and Kinsley sex scene. I understand that not everyone wants to read that so I need your opinion. I want to please everyone.
Option A:
I can write the chapter and put a warning above it, saying it's about Leigh an Kinsley. For this I will also publish a chapter after that so the people who don't want to read it can skip it.
Option B:
Instead of making it a chapter, I can title it- Leigh and Kinsley, just like I did for the short Valentine's Day special.
