Nezther

I pull my keys out of my purse, shoving them into the lock. Just as I'm about to push the door open, it swings open. Jason stands there with a broken expression. I furrow my eyebrows. When I'm about to say something, he sobs loudly. I drop my stuff down onto the porch and pull him into my arms.

He cries into my neck. "I love you," he says against my neck. "I didn't mean it, I'm sorry!"

I rub his back. "Jace, baby, what happened?" I ask as he squeezes me tightly.

"I didn't mean it."

"Jason, seriously," I pull away enough to see his face. "What happened?" He stares at me with bloodshot eyes. "Are you drunk?" He nods, looking down at his feet. "It's not even noon, Jason!"

He flinched when I yell at him. "I didn't mean it."

"Didn't mean what? To get drunk?"

He shakes his head. "Th-The living room."

I pick up my purse and my keys. I walk into the house, following him to the kitchen. I set my things down on the counter. "Okay, what happened?" I look over at him.

He hiccups, "I-I didn't mean it!"

I make my way into the living room. "Oh, shit," I cover my mouth. "You know what? We need a new TV anyways," I look over at my husband. "How about we go shower and go get a new TV?"

He comes over to me and wraps his arms around my waist. "I don't know what I did to deserve you," he cries against my neck.

I hold him tightly and move side to side gently. "My poor baby," I whisper.

"It just scares me," he looks up at me. "It scares me to think I passed this down to our kids."

I frown down at him. "Don't think like that," I push his long hair away from his eyes.

"How can I not?" He sobs, collapsing to the floor.

I sit down in front of him. "Talk to me. Something must've happened to bring this on," I place my hand on his knee.

"Jenny," he mumbles.

I furrow my eyebrows. "What?"

"The way Jenny treats Gracie. She's going to be so depressed because her sister doesn't know how to keep her mouth closed," he leans forward so all of his weight is on me.

I let out a huff at the sudden impact. "Calm down, love," I wrap my arms around him.

"I can't," he cries, "our baby- our poor baby is going to get it. It's like she hasn't been through enough."

I comb my fingers through his hair. "Jason–"

"I'm sorry."

I kiss his head, leaning back to the nearest wall. "Stop apologizing," I whisper, "everything is fine. Just relax for now."

He wraps his arms around my waist. "I love you," he sniffles.

"I love you, baby."
