I sit on the couch with Kinsley. I'm curled up against her as she holds me tightly. Nezther is on the floor, playing with the twins and Jason is at the batting cages with Jasper.

"Nes?"

She looks over at me. "You okay?"

I nod, "yeah. But why're you and Jason... acting weird?"

"We're sort of on a break," she shrugs. "We decided this morning we're too invested in each other and we need a couple days to need each other."

I frown, looking at the toddlers lips start to wobble. "Does that mean one of you isn't going to my appointment tomorrow?"

"No, no, we're both going. We're going to every single appointment, treatment, you name it. We wouldn't miss it for the world."

"Same here," Kinsley whispers, "I'll be with you every step of the way, baby."

"What if they have to remove my entire boob? I'm going to be ugly."

She moves me to her lap. "Your body is beautiful, babe, yeah. But you know what I love most? That sparkle in your eye for adventure and adrenaline, your kindness and empathy, the way you smile, the way you do everything with such grace, I just love you. Not just your body, okay?" I nod as she tucks a piece of hair behind my ear. "I love you."

"I love you too," I kiss her lips softly. "And I'm sorry for pushing you away. I just– I think it'll be easier if I breakup with you incase something does happen to me," I mumble as she wraps her arms around me.

I tuck my head back into her neck and lay as I was this morning. "That would hurt me even more," Kinsley whispers.

"Thank God you can't breakup with me," Nezther stands up. I giggle as she sits next to us. "Everything is going to be okay, I promise. You're just going to be very tired and worn out, but it's okay. I work from home so I'll always be with you when you need anything."

I sit at the island as Nezther makes lunch for everyone. Jason and Kinsley go back to work tomorrow and Jasper goes back to school.

"Have you decided on which treatment you want to go with?" She breaks the silence.

"I think I'm going to get the mastectomy and then radiation if I need it." When she doesn't say anything, I grow nervous. "Uh– d-did you guys want me to get the chemo?"

Nezther quickly shakes her head. "No, baby, we want you to do what you think is best. I actually agree with you, I think it's the best choice for this case. I just want you better," she looks over at me with a frown.

"Is Jason going to be upset?"

"Not at all, he doesn't even know what half of it meant. He said as long as us two know what's going on, he'll support whatever you choose," she assures me.

I lay my head on the counter. "I'm kind of scared."

Two hands settle on my shoulders. "You don't need to be, everyone's going be here for you," Kinsley says softly.

"Gee, babe, that was so assuring," I close my eyes. "They said I'd be in the hospital for two to four days after the mastectomy."

"And I'll be there every second."

Nezther looks at Kinsley with a snarl. "She's my daughter," she snaps playfully.

I smile at her words. "She's my girlfriend," Kinsley fires back.

"Yeah, but there's no legal document saying that. Therefore, only Jason and I are allowed to see her for the first twenty four hours," she smiles over at us.

Kin sits next to me. "What about FaceTime?"

"It's one night," I lean my head on her shoulder.

"Yeah, and I haven't spent a night without you in almost a year."

"It's great to know I share my anniversary with you guys," Jason says as he walks in with Jasper. "Hey, babe," he just smiles at Nezther.

Normally he'll hug her and kiss her and say how much he missed her. It's odd to see him just walk past her.

"Hi, love. What's that?" She points to the bag in his hands.

"We decided to get you a few things."

"Jason–"

"Can we talk?"

I look back to see him close to tears. "I can finish this," I pipe up, "Go ahead." Once they're out of the room, Kinsley looks at me with a loud laugh. "What?"

She shakes her head, "they're supposed to be away from each other and they've been having nonstop sex for the past two days."

"Hm," I hum thoughtfully. "Maybe we should go on a break." I smile at her playfully.

She walks over to the kitchen door, opening it slightly. "Oh shit," she whispers. She closes the door quietly and tiptoes back to me. "He's crying."

"I would be too if my wife said she wanted to distance herself from me."

"Have you thought about my offer?"

"I'm not even eighteen yet, I'm not marrying you." She shrugs, getting up and walking out of the room. I shake my head. "But we can be engaged for awhile," I huff to myself.
