Do you guys want a chapter on how Kinsley and Leigh became a thing? It was the night of Jason and Nezther's wedding.
Jason - back home

"They're all sleeping in the living room, except Kinsley. I think she went out," I tell Nezther as I walk into the kitchen. "Did you make an appointment for Leigh yet?"

She shakes her head, staring down at her phone. "Not yet, I'm still gathering information on different doctors. But I'll call one tomorrow," she mumbles, chewing on her bottom lip.

I wrap my arms around her waist. "It's going to be okay," I kiss her cheek. "What're you worried about?"

"Not only do we have to worry about Grace, now Leigh."

I kiss her forehead as she wraps her arms around my neck. "Let's go talk upstairs," I sigh. She follows me up the two flights of stairs to our bedroom. I flop down onto the bed and pull her with me. "There's something else, I can tell." I sag as she settles onto my waist.

"There's actually two more," she bites her bottom lip. I nod, indicating for her to go on. "You'd tell me if you felt yourself... slipping again, right? If you knew you were about to go into a depression?" She asks, nervously placing her hands on my chest.

"Of course," I grab her hands. I lace our fingers together. "I promise I will, baby. Now what's the other thing?"

She leans down, pressing a soft kiss to my lips. "I wanted to go out tonight, have Kinsley watch the kids and go out for drinks," she lays her head next to mine.

"We just got home, maybe in a few days?" I suggest, she only nods. I wrap my arms around her as tightly as I can.

A knock at the door makes Nezther's eyes shoot open. She stands up and opens the door. "Can I sleep in here?" Our daughter sniffles.

"Of course, babe." Two of my girls come into the bed. Leigh lays on the other side of Nezther as I wrap my arm around my wife. "Do you know where Kinsley went?"

"She said that if we aren't together, she's going to go get with someone else. So I said okay."

I frown, tucking my head against the back of my wife's neck. "We're going to tell the kids tomorrow, is that okay? We're just going to say you're very sick and you're going to be really tired so they need to be quiet." Nezther explains as she grabs ahold of her hand.

"Yeah, that's fine," she murmurs. "I'm just so pissed. How can she do that? Especially right after the claimed she loved me and–" she stops short.

I look up. "And what?" She shrugs in reply. "And what, Leigh?"

"She proposed to me."

"When?"

"When we got home. She said she loved me and she wanted to marry me because she felt she needed to do that to prove it. I turned her down, she started crying and said she was leaving."

Nezther pushes herself up. She sits up between Leigh and I. I place my head on her thighs so I can look at Leigh. "Do you think that's why she said that? Because she wanted to hurt you?" I ask quietly.

"Yeah–" Leigh is cut off my the front door slamming. "I'll go see who she thinks she is," she snaps.

The next morning came all to quickly. I woke up around nine to look for Leigh, seeing as though she didn't come back to mine and Nezther's room last night.

I push open her bedroom door only to see it's the way she left it when we left for Canada. I check the kids rooms to see them the same way, meaning they're still in the living room. I walk down the hallway to see Kinsley.

"Do you–"

"Shh!" She hushes me quickly.

She sits up, her back against the headboard with Leigh sitting on her thighs and her head on her shoulder. Their chests are pressed together as Kinsley holds her tightly.

"She fell asleep only an hour ago," Kinsley whispers, combing her fingers through Leigh's hair. "She's so scared, Jason."

I sit on the bed next to them. "So am I. We just got this girl a little over two years ago, I'm not ready to loose her yet," I admit, painfully.

"She cried to me all night. She finally feels at home after seventeen years, Jason, I hate that she's so scared."

I place my hand on Leigh's back. "Me too," I whisper as she starts to stir. "Hi," I smile as she opens her eyes.

She just blinks and buries her face into Kinsley's neck. "I wanna lay down," she grumbles.

"Do you want me to stay with you?" Kinsley asks as she lays her head on top of my daughter's.

She shrugs, "yeah, but you don't have to."

"I'll go make breakfast. I'll bring it up to you guys, love you," I kiss both of their heads.

"Love you, too," they say at the same time. Kinsley mouths a small "thank you" to which I nod at.

I walk downstairs to the kitchen. "Hey," Nezther smiles. "I have an idea but I think you're going to hate it," she places her hands on my waist.

I lift her up onto the counter by her hips. "Okay, shoot."

She bites her lip. "We barely fight, I know. But when we do, they're so bad because we hurt each other to hurt ourselves." She wraps her arms around my neck. "I love you so much, Jason. But I think we're too invested in each other," she whispers.

I nod, leaning my forehead against hers. "I agree, baby. So you want to distance for a little bit?"

She nods, "exactly. But I don't want it to be like we're getting a divorce or anything."

"Me neither," I kiss her lips. "Just a couple days, not being so... so close."
