I'm so sorry...

Nezther

I pull up my leggings and wipe off my tears. Gracie's stuffed animal sits next to me on the bed. I stare at it before screaming angrily and hitting it off my bed. I walk to the door and slowly go down the stairs. I stand in the doorway of the kitchen, watching my family eat in silence.

"C-Can I s-sit with every-everyone?"

Everyone's heads turn towards me. Jason stands up quickly. He walks over to me and reaches his hand out for me to take. "Of course, baby. Are you hungry too? Let's get you a little food."

"I-I'm not hungry," I whisper.

He sighs but nods. "Alright, will you drink something then? Some juice or I can make you a smoothie?" He offers.

I take his hand and pull myself to his chest into a hug. "Smoothie, Daddy," I mumble.

He hugs me for a few minutes before helping me to my seat. "Hi, Mommy," Jenny smiles. I look up at her.

She looks just like Gracie.

I shake the thought out of my head. "H-Hi," I wave to everyone.

Kinsley leans over to Leigh and whispers something. Leigh shrugs.

"Here, baby," Daddy sets the cup with a straw in front of me. "Be careful."

I nod slowly. I pick up the glass and sip it. When I reach over to set it back on the table, I drop it all over me. The glass falls to the ground and shatters.

Carson covers his ears at the loud noise. He other two kids try to calm him.

I cry out as I push my chair out. Daddy shakes his head. "It's okay, baby. Are you hurt?" I shake my head. He tries to wipe my tears but they keep coming on. "Calm down, it's okay, it was an accident. I'll clean it up, baby, just calm down. Kin, could you bring her upstairs and run her a bath?" He turns to my best friend.

"Daddy," I whimper as I grab his arm tightly.

"It's alright," he runs his fingers through my hair. "She won't hurt you, Princess, okay? Go get in the bath and come back down after you're cleaned up. Maybe you'll be hungry then," he nods to see if I'm okay with that.

I look at Kinsley. She nods too, standing up. "I-I's c-come back," I tell him.

A smile breaks out onto his face. "Yes, baby," he sighs happily. "Come back down and we can all watch a movie."

I follow Kinny up to my bathroom. She starts the water. "Do you want me to get you toys or anything?" She asks softly.

I shake my head. "S-Sorry i's n-not 'round no m-more," I look at the floor.

"Oh, Nessie," she sighs. She sits on the toilet in front of me. She looks up at me so I'm looking down at her. "You're healing and that's fine. We just want you to be okay."

"I's m-miss my baby. Sh-She not he-here no more," I mumble.

She leans over to shut the water off. "I know. It's hard, huh?" I nod as I start to undress. I get in the tub and huff. "What's wrong?"

"I's no mean t-to sh-shut everybody out. I-I w-want be happy... b-but... but I-I's cannot b-be," I explain to her.

She looks at me with empathy. "We all just need to take things slowly. I'm happy you came down tonight, Nessie. We all missed you," She smiles lovingly.

"C-Can I-I has fishies?"

"Of course!" She exclaims, "you can have anything you'd like."

I look at the water. "I's wa-want Grace-Gracie back," I mumble.

Neither of us say anything for awhile. I wash myself as Kinsley sits on the toilet. I stand up when I'm finished. She hands me my towel.

"I'm sorry, Nessie."

I hug her tightly. "I just miss my baby," I whisper.

She hugs me back. "I know, me too," she murmurs.

.

"Daddy!" I run and jump into Daddy's arms.

He grabs my thighs and holds me up. He moves his hands to my waist and squeezes me tightly. "My baby," he kisses my head. "I'm glad you decided to come back down."

"I's s-sit wit-chu and-and c-cuddle," I whisper.

"M-Ma..." I look over at Carson. "N-Need y-y-you," his eyes beg for my arms.

I get off of Daddy and grab Carson. I hold him tightly, swaying side to side lightly. Jenny and Jasper wrap their arms around us. "My babies," Daddy chuckles. "You're all so precious," he kisses everyone's heads.

We start the movie a few minutes later. I moved back to my spot on Daddy's lap, but the kids remain close to us. We watch Minions about halfway through.

"I's gon' go bed," I stand up.

"Alright, baby. I'll be up in a little bit. Thank you for coming to spend time with us."

I nod, "t-took all me, I-I-I's sowwy," I run back upstairs.

I brush my teeth like a good girl before snuggling into bed. I leave the light on so the spooky's don't get me in the dark. Just as I was about to go to sleep, my phone starts blaring my ringtone. It's an unknown caller so I furrow my eyebrows.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hey there, Princess. Ya miss me yet?"
