Chapter 10

-Hailee-

I sat on the edge of the pool and watched as Justin, Chaz, Ryan, and
Stephanie played chicken. Justin was in Chaz's shoulders and
Stephanie was on Ryan's. I laughed at them when one of them would fall off.

"Come on Hailee! Get in the water!" Justin yelled.

"I will but not now! I'm getting my tan on!" I yelled back and he rolled him eyes.

"Your already tan!" Stephanie said swimming to me.

"Are you kidding me? I look like I have lived in Antarctica my whole life." I said and she laughed.

"No girl. I are tan. Now get in the water!" She said but I shook my head.

"Don't make me come over there!" Justin yelled.

"Do it I dare you!" I shouted at him. He laughed and started swimming to me.

"I would get away from the water if I were you." Stephanie said.

"Why should I? He's not gonna do anything." I joked. Just them I felt Justin grab my ankle and started pulling me in.

"Justin no!" I yelled but then was dragged into the pool. When I came back up, everyone was laughing.

"I told you." Stephanie said between laughs.

"Justin!" I said.

"I said don't make me come over there! And you didn't listen so that's what you get!" He laughed.

"Whatever." I said and splashed water at them.

"You should have seen the look on your face!" Chaz said. I rolled my eyes.

"I didn't even know he was coming." I said and splashed Chaz. He splashed me back.

"Yeah, uh huh." He joked.

"Shut up Chaz." I said.

"Anyway!, hey Chaz, race ya to the other end and back." Ryan said.

"Alright, be prepare to lose. Justin, your the judge." Chaz said and they started racing. I laughed.

"So, did he ask you yet?" Stephanie whispered.

"Did who ask me what?" I asked confused.

"Justin." She said motioning to him. He wasn't even paying attention to us, he was to busy chanting for Ryan.

"No why?" I asked.d

"Because the told me he was going to." She whispered.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes. But I don't know when he will." She replied and I nodded.

"And the winner is Ryan!!" We heard Justin shout. We looked over and saw Chaz and Ryan panting.

"No! I was so here first!" Chaz protected.

"Hey Chaz! Just can't face the fact your a loser huh?!" I shouted causing everyone to laugh, and he shot me a look and stuck his tongue out at me. I did it back.

After two hours of swimming, we finally left the pool. We dropped Chaz and Ryan of at Ryan's house and Stephanie at hers. Justin was taking me home.

"So Hailee?" Justin questioned. I already knew where this was going and I already knew my answer.

"Yes Justin?" I replied.

"Um, I was wondering,... Maybe you want to go get dinner?" He asked scratching the back of his neck.

"That would be lovely." I said. He smiled.

"Alright, pick you up at seven?" He asked as we pulled up in front of my house.

"Great!" I said and hopped out of the car .

"Hailee?" Justin said before I shut the door.

"Yeah?"

"See you at seven." He said with a big smile.

"See you at seven." I said back and shut the door. I ran to the door and opened it. I set my stuff down and went to the kitchen and was shocked to see my parents sitting there.

"Mom. Dad. Your home early." I said and they both gave me hugs.

"Yeah. We have good news!" Mom said. I instantly became interested.

"And that good news is...?" I asked.

"Do you remember your cousin, Lila?" Dad asked. I nodded. Who wouldn't remember her? She a bitch. And she asks way to many questions."Well, she going to be staying with us for a few days." Dad said.

"And when is she coming?" I asked.

"She should be here any minute." Mom said.

"Yay!" I said, my voice full of sarcasm.

"Yes so Hailee, where were you?" Mom asked.

"I was at the pool with a couple of friends." I replied.

"And who just dropped you off?" Dad asked giving me his full attention

"Justin." I said.

"And is he your boyfriend?" He asked.

"No, but speaking of that, he's taking me to dinner, so if you excuse me I have to go get ready." I said and walked up to my room. I hopped in the shower and washed my hair. When I got out, I put on my makeup and straightened my hair. I changed into this:

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe." I sang as I changed, and then I heard the doorbell ring. I looked at the clock and saw it was six flirty five. Justin shouldn't be here for another fifteen minutes. I grabbed my flats and ran downstairs and saw Lila:

"Hailee!" She said when she saw me. She ran to me, engulfing me in a hug.

"Lila." I groaned and she pulled away.

"Well, you look fancy! Where are you going?" She asked.

"Dinner. With my friend." I said.

"Who is she?" She questioned.

"He. And you wouldn't know him." I said.

"What's his name?" She asked again.

"Justin." I said and put on my shoes.

"Sounds cute." She said.

"Yeah. He's comin to get me. Maybe you guys can meet." I told her. She smiled.

After fifteen minutes of questions and life stories from Lila, the doorbell rang. I jumped up and mentally thanked Justin for showing up. I ran to the door and swing it open. There stood Justin, looking fine as ever. He looked at me and his jaw dropped.

"You look nice." He said and I blushed.

"Thank you." I said.

"Who is it?" Lila asked.

"Justin." I said and she pushed her way in front of me.

"Hi, I'm Lila, Hailee's cousin." She said.

"Hi, I'm Justin, Hailee's friend." Justin said.

"Alright, bye guys, I'll be home later." I said and pushed Lila out of my way. Justin and I linked arms and we walked to his car. He opened the door for me, and I thanked him, getting in. He ran to the other side of the car and got in.

"Sorry bout that. She just got here. And I am so glad you showed up. She is so annoying." I said putting on my seatbelt and him putting on his.

"Well, I guess you got lucky." He said, I giggled, and we pulled away, going to dinner.
