Chapter 12

-Hailee-

"Hey guys!" I said to the laptop screen where I saw my parents and Ally on video chat.

"Hey Hails! How are you?" My mom asked smiling.

"I'm great! How are you guys?" I replied.

"Were good. We miss you." She told me. I nodded in agreement. "Ally has been with Maddie and me and your dad have been working so we haven't been home much."

"And that's why I didn't like it there." I muttered but they obviously heard.

"And you couldn't have Mr. Justin with you." Dad added. I laughed and nodded looking over at him from across the room sleeping peacefully. I smiled and turned the camera to face him.

"I would have him talk but he is still sleeping." I said and then turned the camera back to me.

"Isn't it late there?" I heard dad ask. My eyes found the clock in the top right corner of the laptop.

"It's only 11 in the morning." I told them and try nodded.

"Hailee guess what!?" Ally piped up. I smiled and replied with what. "Me and Maddie went swimming the other day and I jumped off the high dive!"

"Wow that's impressive!" I cheered. She six and she already went off that. I didn't go off that till I was like twelve. I listened to them all ramble on and then my mom spoke up.

"Alright well we better go." She said. "We have to get to your aunts house."

"Okay! Tell Lila I said hi! Bye love you!" I blew them a kiss. I heard them say bye and then I closed my laptop. I leaned back on the headrest of the bed for a few minutes until I heard my stomach making noises telling me I was hungry. I climbed out of bed and made my way to the kitchen looking through the cabinets.

"Ah nothing." I groaned to myself. Time to make a trip to the store. I took a shower and put on some dark jeans and a blue t shirt and let me hair down in curly waves. I applied little makeup before grabbing my shoes and slipping them on. Going to the kitchen to grab my keys off the counter, I took a slip of paper from the drawer and wrote Justin a note telling him where I was. I stepped outside and walked to my car, placing the keys in the ignition and pulling out of the driveway. I turned on the radio to cover up the silence and hummed along with it. The drive became boring not having anybody to talk to. Most of the time I have Justin to talk to. But his lazy ass wouldn't get out of bed this morning. He has those days. But I can't blame him, sleeping is nice. Once I got into the bigger part of the town the streets became more crowded. Why does the store have to be so far? I stopped at the intersection seeing the light turn red. While I waited I looked through the window looking at the busy streets. Once the light turned green I pushed on the gas pedal making me maneuver forward. That's when I noticed a decent sized silver truck that hadn't stopped coming straight at me and before I could do anything, I felt the impact. The last thing I remember was seeing flashing lights. And then everything went black.

-Justin-

I sat bored out of my mind while flipping through the channels on the TV. I waited for a long time waiting for Hailee to return home. Finding nothing good to watch I turned off the TV and went to the bedroom. I passed Ryan and Stephanie's room, hearing them whispering to each other. When I got to our room, I took a quick shower and put on a clean pair of sweats. As I was combing through my hair I heard my phone ringing from in the other room. I quickly sped down the hall, searching frantically for my phone. When I came across it I hit the answer button and held the phone up to my ear.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Hello. This is the Stratford Hospital calling to let you know Hailee has been in a very bad car accident." I heard the lady say. My eyes widened and my heart beat sped up. Was she okay? What If she's not okay? I fumbled with my words.

"I'll be there soon." I manage to say, instantly running to the room and slid on a hoodie. I quickly put on a pair of black Supras and grabbed my eyes.

"Whoa Justin, what's the hurry?" Stephanie said humorously.

"It's Hailee. She got into a car crash." I said a little rushed. I saw her eyes widen and then I ran outside to my car. Please let her be okay. I quickly started the car and pulled out of the driveway.

Going faster than I should have, I got to the hospital, quickly found a parking space, and then ran inside. I came across the front desk in a matter of seconds.

"I'm here for Hailee Ellis. Do you know where I might find her?" I asked. The lady working looked up at me from through her glasses.

"Wait in there, I'll send a doctor in soon." She said dully. I groaned in frustration and stomped to a chair in the waiting room she had directed me to. I had no patients at the moment. I didn't have time for this. I sat quietly tapping my foot. I needed to know if she's okay. I need to hold her. Wrap her in my arms and tell her that everything's gonna be okay. My hands were trembling and my heart was beating fast. I refused to think of the worse things that could happen. I glanced around looking for a clock. When my eyes landed on one I sighed seeing ten minutes had gone by. It felt like an hour passed. Looking in front of me, I noticed another man sit across from me. He looked around his mid twenties. I sent him a friendly smile which he returned. I continued to tap my foot anxiously. "What are you here for?" I asked in a friendly matter. He looked over at me and smiled.

"I'm about to be a dad." He replied happily. I couldn't help but smile. I would much rather be here like him than why I actually am. "What about you?"

"My girlfriend got into an accident." I told him. He sent me a sorrowful look.

"I wish her the best of luck." He said. I thanked him.

"And to you." I agreed. He thanked me and then i noticed a doctor enter the room.

"Anybody for Hailee Ellis?" He said loudly. I quickly stood to my feet hearing her name. He noticed me and I walked to him.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Wes. And you are?" He introduced holding out his hand.

"I'm Justin, her boyfriend." I told him shaking his hand. "Is she okay?"

"She's fine. She might be sleeping for a while though. She is recovering from a mild coma." The doctor explained. "You can go to her room if you would like."

"Yes please." He led me down the hall and stopped when we came to a door.

"She's right in there."
