-Hailee-
"We have the hotel room booked for however long we need. Probably a week or two after the baby comes." Mom said, helping me set up for the baby shower. Most of my family flew out to be here for Justin and I when the baby would be born. Which was only two weeks away. So close yet so far away. I had hung pink streamers around the house, my mom setting everything else up. She claimed I would be working to hard if I did anything else.
We were currently the only ones in the house, considering that the guests weren't coming for another hour, and baby showers weren't a boy thing. Justin had went off to hang with Ryan, considering Ryan wouldn't have anybody either. Stephanie would be here. Dad was out somewhere doing who knows what, and Ally was with Pattie and Jazzy. "I'm so glad you guys could come." I said, my mother sending me a sweet smile.
"Wouldn't miss this for the world." She said, setting the pan of bright pink cupcakes on the kitchen counter. "Now go get ready. You look like a mess." Mom had joked, causing for me to laugh a little and head upstairs. I took a quick shower before throwing on a look pink t-shirt and a pair of shorts. I dried and straightened my dark brown hair, applying little makeup before going back downstairs. I knew someone was here because I heard multiple voices. I walked into the kitchen, seeing my aunt and Lila standing there with my mom. They had stopped by earlier when Justin was still here, but soon left to check into their hotel. My aunt sent me a warm smile and Lila hugged me. She never gets enough hugs.
"So, where's you're little troublemaker this time?" Lila laughed, referring to Justin. I smiled and turned to her.
"He's out with Ryan." I told her. "He wanted to be here but I knew he would complain if he was here. Baby showers are for girls, not guys."
"You picked yourself out a weird one Hails." She joked.
"So did you."
"And I think they are both real sweethearts." My aunt butted in, handing Lila a dish of food. "Take that to the table, sweetie." Lila nodded, doing as she was told.
"You want me to take something mom?" I asked, not waiting for her answer before taking the pan to the table.
"Hailee Mae! Don't wear yourself out already!" My mom called after me. I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"Mom I'm fine. Really. Do you think Justin keeps up with everything by himself?" I called back, hearing a car pull up out side. I glanced out the window, seeing Patties familiar car. I smiled and greeted them outside the door. Ally and Jazzy were up the steps first, already telling me about what they did this morning before they ran off inside. Pattie came next, holding a big gift bag in her hand.
"Hello sweetheart!" She greeted, pulling me into her oh so famous hugs.
"Hey, Pattie." I said back, stepping back inside. Soon enough, everybody had arrived. It was mostly my family - aunts, cousins, grandparents, you name it- and Stephanie, considering I didn't have time to make much friends in high school. My last year of high school mainly revolved around Justin. But I would change that for the world because I'm happier than I ever could be. I sat in the kitchen, snacking on some chips with Stephanie an Lila.
"I can't believe my best friend will be having a baby in two weeks." Stephanie said, taking a long sip of her pink lemonade. Mom was dead set on having as much pink as she could.
"Maybe not even two weeks. You look like you could pop at any minute." Lila spoke up, sending me a playful wink. I rolled my eyes, shaking my head.
"I'm ready to get this baby out of me." I sighed. "I'm just scared to."
"Don't worry about it. You'll be fine." Stephanie said, Lila nodding in agreement.
"I hope." I said softly, placing another chip in my mouth. Lila was about to speak when she was interrupted.
