Work was brutal, but always fun to be with Peter and out in the compound. I couldn't wait to plop into bed and finally rest. Peace and quiet.

When I get home the whole apartment seems to be in a frenzy. Peter gives me a look that says good luck as he kisses me goodnight.

I head into the apartment to see Phoenix's arm in a cast.

"What happened?" I look to Eric. He looks a mess.

"Nothing." Phoenix and Eric say in unison.

"Nothing, huh?" I walk over to Phoenix and look at his cast. "This doesn't look like nothing."

He sighs. "It's nothing. Dad and I just were training..."

"You broke his arm?" I look to Eric confused.

Phoenix looks panickedly up at Eric.

"No. Not directly." Eric grumbles.

"Well...be careful next time." I knew they were lying. The phone rings and I head into the bkitchen to answer it.

"Hello?"

"The autopsy has been done on the body. Funeral arrangements can now be made for her, um, Audrey." The nervous Erudite voice says.

"Thank you," I quickly hang up the phone and head into the living room. "Everyone get ready for bed," I clap my hands. "Now soldiers." They all march to the bathrooms and their rooms.

I'm left alone with Eric. "That was the hospital," I sit down next to him and put my feet up.

"Oh yeah? What'd they have to say?" He lifts his chin.

"That your girlfriend's dead body is ready for funeral arrangements," I look at him not a hint of anger in my voice.

"Oh. News to me." He shrugs.

"I can tell by your facial expression it's news to you," sarcasm. "Where did you take Phoenix today?"

"We just went to the gym." He acts bored.

"The gym, right. So, you aren't upset that I just broke this devastating news to you?"

"When you've already dealt with someone's death before, you tend to take it easier the second time around. I'm sure it's just another hoax." He rolls his eyes.

"You're lying," I put my hand on his knee and use it as support to lift myself off the couch. "You don't have to tell me, but Phoenix was hurt today and you're hiding something. He's my child too, don't forget." My voice still remaining calm.

"Phoenix and I have agreed to keep the events of today to ourselves." He says clipped.

"It wouldn't have anything to do with you going to see Audrey? Maybe have him meet her before she...I don't know, died?"

"Nope. We were at the gym. Elena, I don't think she died."

"I bet my good friends in surveillance will vouch for you then."

"Check the tapes." Eric shrugs.

"Okay, I'll head there now." I walk toward the door.

"I'll be here when you get back." He smiles.

I shut the door and head to intelligence where Four and Zeke are. Since Eric and I 'split' I've been seeing them a lot more. I tell them about Eric and they pull up footage of the gym--nothing. I knew they were lying. I check the surveillance of the apartment and watch as Eric and Phoenix walk out--I track them until I see they left the compound. They must of gone to the hospital, for what I don't know but Audrey's death wasn't a shock.
