I don't know what time I fell asleep last night but when I wake up I'm still in Eric's arms. We're silent for a while. The phone rings and neither of us move.

"I don't want to get out of bed today," I whisper my voice cracking slightly.

"We don't have to."

I run my hands up and down his arms as he squeezes me tighter. "What do you think his test results were?"

"Amity and Dauntless."

"Do you think he would've still chose Amity knowing that?"

"Yes. He hated it here." Eric sighs.

"I loved him so much," I cry against his chest.

"Me too. He was the last part of our army. We tried so hard to have him. I- I can't believe he's gone." He blubbers.

I run to the bathroom where I hover over the toilet anticipating to throw up, but I don't. There's nothing in me to throw up. I dry heave as I clutch the toilet bowl. None of this felt real. I wanted to wake up from this nightmare.

The phone continues to ring, as I gag over the toilet I yell at Eric to pick it up.

"Where is it?" He yells back.

"On the kitchen counter."

With a huff he is up and answering the phone. "Hello? Okay, thank you. Bye."

"Who was it?"

"The school. We've got to get down there. They found Eero locked in a room."

"What?" I stand up and rush to the kitchen where Eric is. I don't wait for him to answer as I rush out the door Eric following.

"Where is he?!" I yell at the principal.

"There was a mix up, Eero was in the wrong room when he took his test."

"What does that mean?" I panic.

"It means whoever was in Eero's room was killed. Your son is fine. He is shaken up, but he is in my office. He locked himself in the room overnight when he heard shooting.

"But he's safe?" I grab onto Eric's arm.

"Yes he is."

I run passed her and barge through her office door.

I wrap my arms around my tall beautifully perfect son. "Eero," I sob into his chest.

Eero strokes my hair. Eric joins into the hug.

"We thought you were dead," I let out a relief exhale.

"I'm okay, mom." He reassures me.

"I'm so glad you're alright, son." Eric says gruffly. "Now come on, we've got to get you to the ceremony."

It's lucky that this year was reverse alphabetical order.

When we arrive they were on H's. Eero sits in between Eric and I as I hold his hand squeezing it tightly just to make sure he was really real.

"Eero Coulter." His name is called.

He hugs Eric and I and makes his way down the stairs. He cuts his hand and as expected his blood drips in the soil.

"Amity."

I clap for him, he's finally free.

I look over at Eric and smile at him. "Let's get going."

We called for a family dinner, Emery and Abbey even coming over. Ean and his family were the last to arrive.

"I don't understand," he says bursting through the door. "I thought he was dead."

"He's not dead?" Emery look to Eric and I.

"It was a misunderstanding, son. His name and the name of another boy got mixed up." Eric shakes his head.

"He wasn't divergent," I reassure him.

"What?" Eli says. "Erudite is killing divergents?"

"It's been going on for years." Eric nods.

Eli clears his throat and nods.

"This is...this is good news," Emery looks around. "Where is he?"

"Happily in Amity." Eric gives a tiny smile.

Every nods their heads knowing he's happy there, he was never Dauntless and hated the violence.

"I guess I know is the best time as any," Emery stands up. "Abbey is pregnant."

"I bet it's going to be a boy." Eloise rolls her eyes.

"Hey, we thought the same about Octavia." Phoenix looks over to his cooing daughter.

"We thought that about you too," I say to Eloise. "Congratulations Em, Abbey."

"I can't wait to have another grandchild." Eric claps his hands together. "Congratulations you two."

I look around at the table at my family smiling and laughing. I look up at Eric who is sitting across from me. I grin ear to ear.

"I love you," I mouth to him and he winks at me.
