Liat wandered around Jedi's hut, trying to decipher his last few words.
What did he mean?
Zan was dead, there was nothing at Twin Forks after the floods a few years ago.
What had Jedi been planning?
Then she saw a few pieces of bark paper shoved beneath his mattress, and her eyes brightened.
Then they dulled again as she saw what the papers were. One was simply a map to Twin Forks from their base camp and another, more detailed, showing the area around the Forks.
But it was her only clue that Jedi had been meaning to go there.
So she would go.
She would take his place.
Jedi would not have died for nothing.
