Zan looked around the clearing, scanning the trees at its edge.
'Where is your brother? I can feel him around here somewhere.'
Liat closed her eyes against a sudden rush of emotion, Jedi being the first thing to spring to mind. Then she opened them once more to look Zan in the eyes as she told him.
'My blood brother is dead. Emerson is up the hill, behind the fallen log if he stayed where he was told to.' Liat gestured as she spoke.
Zan looked shocked.
'Emerson!' Liat called, gesturing for him to join them. She didn't want to talk about Jedi further.
At least, not right now.
