Zan directed a group of men who had just walked back into the new settlement at Twin Forks with a few logs strung between them.
'Over there,' he gestured to the site of the new hut.
'Who's the hut for?' one of the men asked.
Zan simply raised one eyebrow, simultaneously answering the man's question and ascertaining that he'd really wanted to ask it.
The man simply turned his head away and kept walking.
The truth was that Zan had felt a presence coming near the village a few days ago, a feeling that was only getting stronger as time passed.
There was simply one catch.
The presence was of someone he knew very well.
Very well indeed.
Or at least, someone he used to know well.
He couldn't name someone simply from the feeling.
But he'd know if someone walked into the clearing if they were the one he'd felt.
And he had a feeling that it would be happening soon.
