Liat hung her head and turned to face the voice before lifting her gaze once more.
'What's your name, dear?' the woman asked, reaching out a hand to Liat.
'L-Liat Axton, ma'am,' she stuttered slightly.
'Well, Liat, why don't you come in, and I'll give you something for that headache I'm sure you have.' The woman smiled, her hand still outstretched.
Liat simply nodded.
The woman sat her down at a hewn-wood table and set a carved cup in front of her.
Once her headache had dissipated somewhat, she realised she'd not caught the woman's name.
When she asked, the woman replied with two words Liat had been hoping not to hear.
'Althea Ross.'
