When Emerson joined them, Zan began to speak, telling his children his story.
'As you can tell, I was not killed in the War. I simply defected.'
At this point, Zan smiled wearily.
'But little did I know, it would not change anything. The Rogue cover up both defections and deaths with what they call the 'Lost'. Whether I died or defected, the result would be the same.'
'No. The result was entirely different.'
Zan's confusion was evident at Liat's statement.
'Because you were one of the Lost, I never joined the War. Yes, I trained, but I left the night before I would be transported to the battlefield. Because of that, I met Jedi, who led me here. Because you defected, you and I meet again,' she explained.
Zan closed his eyes.
'Right now I'm not so sure that that's a good thing.'
