Virginie's Point of View
December 24th
Where is Harry?
My heart is racing into my chest from the moment I heard Anne's distress in her voice. I could picture her, with Robin sitting next to her, worrying about where her beloved son might be, relaying on me to tell her everything is fine. It's unfortunately not the good news I have for her.
"Hi Anne. He didn't answer to me either. I am very worried. Do you have any clues of where he might have gone?" I rush my questions as I am very alarmed of Harry's disappearance. Christmas and family are too important for him to bail on them, even more if he was already at Gemma's.
"I really have no idea, Gynie. I am so sorry to have worried you. It's not like Harry to not answer his phone." She tells me as I put her on speaker phone and text him. Maybe if he sees my messages he will call Anne if he knows how worried we all are.
"I am texting him right now. I called him three times and no answer. It's weird, because he doesn't ignore voluntarily the calls or didn't turn off his phone. It sounds like he doesn't have his phone with him. If he does, I hope he will respond to my text to, at least, call you and explain."
Me: Harry? It's Gynie. Can you call your Mom? She is worried about you.
Me: I am very worried too. Where are you?
"Thank you, but I wasn't very listening. It only got my attention when he started to whisper and be more secretive. I heard your name, so I was sure he was talking about you, but now that I think about it, I think he said 'Jake' too. I remember his name because he talked to him on your phone, being very angry, the morning he told him what happened to you and then made you go back to the hotel in Manchester."
What!? Harry talked to Jake? Today and that day?
I don't think about it furthermore and quickly bring the phone to my ear, realising that my parents heard everything on the speaker mode. My heart is big in my chest, weighting heavy, as I look up at my parents, trying to find any sign that they might know what truly happened to me.
"Oh my God, Anne. I think I know how to get more answers. I am not sure if it's a good lead, but I will keep you posted shortly." I hang up quickly, rushed to call Jake, hoping with all my heart Harry did nothing stupid if it involves him.
I try to avoid any more eye contact with my parents as I look through my contact list for his name, "Jake" Jacob Goodman Junior. I compose his number without a second thought. I get up and walk away from my parents to be more free to talk.
At the second ring, he hasn't answered and I get anxious that he won't at all. I start thinking about every other scenarios of how I could find Harry, but there isn't. I will harass Jake until he respond, but at the fourth ring, he does.
"Oh my god, Jake, thank God!" I let out as I relax every muscle in my body, emotion getting to my throat with small relief.
"Virginia?" He asks, genuinely surprised to hear me.
"Do you know where Harry is?"
"How do you know?"
"I know nothing, Jake. His Mom is worried and so am I."
"He told me not to tell you anything even after what happened."
