Virginie's Point of View

March 24th

"What if I have to pee?"  I let out the loudest that I can as Anne helps me putting on my dress.

I struggle to get my arms in the laced sleeves as the silky fabric caresses my skin along my body.  She pulls down the dress slowly, adjusting it as she rolls her eyes.

"You are walking down the aisle in an hour and we are not even there yet.  Plus, it's the third time you ask me that and the fifth in the last hour that you used the loo." Gemma retorts as her Mom tries her best to keep the dress to mess up my make up and my hair.  "It's not like you have drunk or eaten anything all day..."

"Better rest your voice, Love."  Anne says to me, smiling gloriously as she walks her way to my back to lace my dress.

"I can't believe this is happening..."  I let out, my murmurs barely audible.

I have tried every stupid remedy there is.  Once I left Harry in the hallway, I tried to tell him that I love him and barely a sound came out, not enough for him to hear me.  Lou, that was waiting nearby my room, was the only one to hear it.  Since then, they have googled every way I can end this.  I have tried to drink hot water and lemon.  Nothing.  Not speaking at all for about two hours and it hadn't even improved anything.  I have tried to get a steamer so I could breathe the vapour, but with my hair and make up getting done, it wasn't the best idea.  Finally, Mom had this stupid miracle remedy by putting a suppository in my bum.  She isn't the first one to tell me it works, so, as crazy and disgusting and uncomfortable as it is, I did it.

It was all for nothing.

I had to have a pill into my arsehole for hours in hopes it would bring my voice back.  Ha ha!  The joke is on me.  I should have worn something warmer for the ride with Harry last night.  The rain didn't help at all as it got us all soaking wet.  I wonder how he is doing...  He had his voice this morning, so at least there's that.

"You should eat something, Nini."  Mom tells me quickly as she brings my shoes for me to step into.  "You haven't eaten all day."

"I'm so nervous, Mom.  I can't.  Plus, I don't want to have to poo in the middle of the ceremony.  My body could just make me do that. It's not to be trusted."  I whisper as it makes her laugh, tying my shoes around my ankles.

She gets up and looks at me with a wide and genuine loving smile.  The way her eyes dives into mine, brings me on the slim edge between extreme happiness and tearing up.  It feels like I can't express how happy I am so my chest starts to sob, tears rushing through my eyes.
