February 17th
"They were supposed to be here half an hour ago." Mark lets out next to me, visibly as worried as I am.
"This isn't Gyns at all to be late." I let out as I keep looking all around us, through every head of the people gathered here for the wedding.
"She must be with her friends. You know how carried away she can be." He chuckles and I quickly look at him with a pinch in my stomach.
"I know. I'm marrying her." I let out a bit arrogantly which makes the conversation grow cold between us.
Of course I know how she can be, for fuck's sake.
I am nervous and it makes me a bit on edge. I shouldn't have talked to Mark like that. It should be a day to be happy. It's a wedding! But things haven't been the easiest between Gyns and I ever since I got to Montreal yesterday. Or since I read her text a few days ago.
She picked me up at the airport yesterday and she wasn't half as happy as she usually is. I didn't get my roses. Not that I was expecting them, which I kind of was, I find it cute, but it just hinted me how upset she is or was. I don't think she has quite forgiven me yet. She hasn't really talked to me since then. She is cold. Today is not the day for that and I am sad that she might still feel that way towards me on this very special day.
It's very hard not having her talking to me. Very hard. I thank Gemma for being the mediator between us two. She told me all about the fun they had at the show and planning this whole wedding with Mum this week. I was surprised to hear that she actually enjoyed it. But with Gyns still upset, I don't know what to do to make her understand that everything I do, I do for her own good.
"Hey Harry?!" Mark tries to get my attention and waves his hand in front of me. "It's 4:30. It's time."
He walks towards the court room in this justice hall as I get even more freaked out that Gyns is nowhere to be found. She doesn't even answer my texts. I don't argue and follow him inside the room, taking the empty seat next to him at the back of the room. We're siting at the back of the aisle with a view on the judge in front of us, waiting as we all are for the bride to arrive.
In the meantime, Mark quickly introduces me to his friends, all tall and broad. Clearly, Gyns has a type. I shake all of their hands without any further thought, because we hear Gyns' loud and undeniably joyful laugh from the corridor. It echoes through the walls and it makes me smiles immediately. I know they are coming, so I get all the attention to the door. I can hear them talk.
