"Thank you for being there with me Matt. With Harry touring Europe, I really didn't want to be alone and I owe a lot of this book to you. So, it means the world to me that you are at this book signing with me." I smile to him and take his hand in mine under my desk beautifully decorated by the Selfridges store's employee.
"You wouldn't have been alone for a second, have you seen the people waiting in line to meet you?!" He jokes to me with a large smile.
"Most are here because of my husband... I know that's why I got this whole serie of events at Selfridges."
"Hey... Stop being so hard on yourself... You deserve this and your team worked to make it happen, because they know your worth. Since when do you doubt yourself that way?"
"Matt... Don't tell me my story would have been this successful if I wasn't with Harry."
"V, look at me." He says to me with his gentlest tone. He turns me on my chair, my bump keeping a large distance between us. "Everything you have, you deserve. This book is very good. And so is the first one you published. People are here because they loved your first book and expect to love this one as well. These women want to meet the woman that has the imagination to make them love, cry and make them feel a whole lot of emotions. It has nothing to do with the man you married." He smiles at me and I can't believe how blessed I am to have him more permanently back in my life.
I reconnected with Matt a little while after I came back from my honeymoon. I had just finished writing my second story and I was in LA with Harry for the promo of his album for the Grammy's and other awards during a break of his tour, I decided to call him and catch up. I asked him to read my story and he has been with biggest support. He is the critic I need when it comes to my writing. He doesn't go easy on me, he tells what is good and was isn't and I love that about him. He is a tough judge, but that's what I need. It makes me grow as a writer so much to talk with him. And since Harry is on tour for his second album, Matt takes of his time to accompany me on my tour. I have been touring every Selfridges in England and we are concluding for a second date in London.
Yesterday, we were in Manchester and I arranged to go spend the night at Anne's. It was so nice to be only us two and talk. It has been a very long time since the last time we did. I think it did good to the both of us. She was so excited to see how much the baby had grown in my belly. She had so much baby clothes to give me. We spent the night watching Harry's baby pictures and talking about what to expect when I'll be delivering in two weeks.
Everything is organised for the due date. My parents are flying in next week, they will stay with us for three weeks and Harry is currently travelling to Germany. He has a show tomorrow in Hamburg and another in Berlin and he comes home to be with me, before going back on tour in Asia next month. After that, there's Australia, the North American tour and he finishes at the end of the year in South America. He'll be gone a lot, but I know I will never be alone.
"I know I'm not here for him." Matt cheekily says as he kisses my hand and gets up to stand behind with my Editor.
I grin at him as my team sets everything to get ready to let people in to see me. I take deep breaths as I always get this rush of nerves before every meeting, but the first smiles I see, the first books I sign always get me overjoyed and it fades away.
