Virginie's Point Of ViewOctober 31st
"Matt! Come on! We'll be late." I shout through the house as we still live at his parents.
"I can't believe you are making me do this." He joins me in his room, looking down at the shirt he is buttoning up.
I walk to him, putting down my purse and in a few sound of my heels on the wooden floor, to help him out. He looks dashing.
"It's a Halloween party, Matt, not a marathon. Everyone is supposed to be there. Simon throws one every year for his employees."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah. Jake told me so."
"Isn't he the one who thought you were a lesbian?"
"Yes..." I sigh and roll my eyes.
Even though things got really better between us two, I always have this wall around him, a doubt. He always is too much or does too much and it bothers me.
"Maybe it's better this way, to let him think that."
"Can't. He saw us kiss last month. But don't worry, I won't ever let you go." I smirk at him, before getting on the tip of my toes and give him a quick peck. "Now, let's go."
I run by the living room, while Matt puts his shoes on, and say goodbye to Mark and Sophie really quick. I wonder for a second where Cindy might be, but I realise she is out catering a Halloween party tonight.
Matt joins me and we finally get into the car to make our way there. As he drives us through the city, it makes me realise how big London is. Honestly, this last month felt like it has never been smaller. I don't get out to the streets a lot, because I use mainly the tubes to travel around the city, but when I do, I seem to see Harry everywhere. I soon figured out he is going to the gym a few blocks away from work. It's always awkward. I don't think he ever noticed me, but it tormented me. I thought at first he was following me, but his world doesn't revolve around me and I'm not sure if it ever really did.
I surprised him in my building once. I don't know what he came to do since he isn't managed by our company. I was on the top floor of the building to meet Simon's assistant, for the short time he was in London, to give him copies of renewed contracts I've reviewed with Robert, the lawyer Jake always goes to eat with. I was happy and proud Jake made me do this on my own with Robert. He is usually always supervising me.
Harry was speaking with the receptionist at the front desk of the floor, when I saw him. I made myself very silent and got to the elevator. I didn't want to have to force a conversation if we gazed at each other. I didn't want it to be awkward and I wouldn't have known what to say, so I wanted to escape the situation. Instead, I ran into Jake coming out of the same elevator I rushed myself into.
There went the attempt to be silent. I collapsed to the ground with the less charming of sounds.
"Ha ha. Are you OK, Darling?" Jake helped me to get up.
I tried to push him back into the elevator with the slight chance no one noticed me.
"If you want to sneak me somewhere, you can just tell me. I would take you somewhere more private." He smirked and let out loudly as he resisted and let the elevator go down as we didn't even get in.
"Thanks a lot..." I sarcastically whisper, pouting from anger.
"What was that about? You forgot a contract in the printer, I was bringing it to you." He said visibly confused.
