Harry's Point of View

January 1st (almost five years after the wedding)

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Gynie and I exclaim as we open the front door to her parent's house in Canada.

The air is so cold outside, we hurry ourselves in with our bags.  It feels so good to be inside. It's warm and there's a wonderful smell of turkey and cinnamon lingering in the air. I love coming here. With a not so small little Robyn and Gyns's huge bump, we take all the space in the hall.  We barely know where to set foot. We are so greatly welcomed by Stephane that helps us with our luggages before he embraces us all.

I am so thankful for the reverse jet lag coming from London to Montreal. We hopped on the flight this afternoon and from the time it is here it's only three hours later than the time of our takeoff. Robyn slept all the way through and so did Gyns. She was already a big sleeper before her pregnancy, but it appears like she spends even more of her time sleeping. She always blames the baby inside of her for draining her out of energy.  It appears it kicks a lot. Gyns jokes that the baby is already so much like me, always asking for attention.

Since I was finishing my last tour in America when she got to know the sex of the baby, she has been keeping it a secret from everyone. She painted the nursery yellow, so I had no clue of knowing. She said she would reveal it only when we would visit her family. So here we are... three weeks before her delivery. Nadyne and Stephane were so happy that we wanted to come for New Year's and have our gender reveal party at the same time. I wanted to compromise and keep this party private. It'll be just us four and our little Robyn. Elizabeth and Mark are at his house with their little girl for this Holiday, but we planned a brunch tomorrow morning with everybody.

It's been a very long time since we've visited her part of the world. Gyns has been very occupied with work. She has a new book coming out and she has been working with Matt on his first ever movie as a director. She was so proud to tell me that her and Robyn are making an appearance as extras in a grocery store.

My tour has ended in October and since then, I have spent everyday with my little boy. I didn't think that he was going to exhaust me that much. He is always laughing. Of course, I can't get enough and I always do more. He loves when I sit him on the kitchen counter and put on music. He loves when I dance and he mirrors me the best he can. He is so precious. He loves when I make him fly through the house as well. But what he loves most is when I carry him on me with one of Gyns's super strap and go for a bicycle ride behind our house. He loves listening to the birds sing. He is so impressionable. I adore him. He makes me think so much of my wife, it's cute. Plus, it's like I have a constant public for everything I do. How can I not love it?!
