Song for this chapter:
- No Questions Asked by Fleetwood Mac
- We Belong Together by Gavin Degraw  (Very very good song.  The movie version of the song from the Tristan and Isolde is even more beautiful.)

Virginie's Point of View

February 1st

Harry didn't want to celebrate his birthday the way he usually does by going out. He, in fact, didn't want to celebrate his birthday at all. I convinced him otherwise to change his mind.

Since Robin passed away the morning after I left, he has been grieving very hard. I can see he isn't thinking clearly. He kept me updated with his usual emails and that's how I know his Mom follows him everywhere. She has been living with him in London since then as he keeps himself busy with work. I convinced him to come to New York so we can be together for his birthday. I know he has a flat in New York so we can enjoy ourselves. It could be good for Anne too.

I drove all the way from Montreal to New York with my car and I wait impatiently for Harry and Anne to go through the customs at the JFK airport. As usual, I bought red roses for H and I decided to also buy rainbow coloured ones for his Mom.

I don't know if it's because I am used to Heathrow, but this airport is chaotic and it gets even worse when I hear the fans saying my beloved's name.

"Harry, a picture."

"So sorry for your loss."

"We love you, Harry."

My attention gets drawn immediately to the mass of people security are trying to keep away from Anne and her son. He stops for a picture, then another and then another, but quickly makes his way to my direction. He wears this cold and stern face until his eyes find me. I make my way to him and sneak my arms around his waist. My head collides with his chest as I feel him very tensed. He isn't my teddy bear. Something is wrong and I'll need to make him talk to me as we barely did in the last week we were apart.

I step away and hug Anne as well, which contrast a lot with the hug I just shared with her son. She is warm and motherly and everything Harry showed a lack of. I hand them their flowers and it gets me a shy smile from Harry. Something is very wrong. Anne thanks me and takes me by the hand as we make our way out to my car.

I let Harry drive since I don't want to drive in this city. Montreal's traffic scares me, so there's no way I'll drive through the boroughs of New York City. Plus, I have no idea where he lives. It turns out to be quite the tall building. It's heavily secured with gates and security as we go down to the interior parking where my old Toyota doesn't fit in at all. All these cars are so luxurious. It makes me remember that my Tesla should be ready by March.

We get all of our suitcases out of the boot and walk to the elevator where Harry puts his key to unlock it and get to his condo upstairs. We stop at the 24th floor and the doors open right in the hall. All the lights are out, so Harry walks in first to guide the way. I get pleasantly surprised by the modern charm of his place, which different entirely with the house he owns in London, but I remind myself that it somewhat resembles his house in LA. There's still a lot of white, but I am in a better state of mind to manage it this time around.

Harry assigns a room for his Mom and lets her undo her bags as he shows me the way to his bedroom. He turns on the lights and I follow him in. I put my suitcase at the end of his large King size bed and I hear him lock the door behind me.
