Zelda’s P.O.V
When I came about again I woke up in a strange place. The room was dark but there was just enough light coming from a torch that seemed lit down the hall. My vision was slightly blurred when I opened my eyes so I furiously rubbed them until I could see straight. Once I could see again I found that I was in a cell in some sort of dungeon. My first thought was the dungeon in Hyrule Castle but thankfully the cell that I was in did not match the ones inside the castle. “Where am I?” I thought to myself as I pushed my hair out of my eyes. I attempted to stand up and move but as I did I felt something clench around my ankle. I lifted up my dress slightly to see what was locked around my ankle. I was chained at the ankle unable to move less than at least three feet in any direction. “Just great.” I huffed impatiently. Never before have I ever been in the situation of being chained. I felt like an animal being treated unjustly. I sat back down again and tried to think of a solution. After a long time period I came up with nothing. There was nothing nearby to help this blasted chain to unlock, and worse there was no sign of any life. I felt utterly, and completely alone. It wasn’t until I heard footsteps did hope fill me again. It was two Gerudos who passed my cell in that moment. They glanced my way but said nothing. “Hey!” I shouted at them. They stopped walking and faced me. “Where am I?” I demanded. The two Gerudo guards smiled at one another and laughed. “What makes you think we should tell you?” One of them laughed. “I have a right to know!” I cried. “You really want know woman?” The other asked. I nodded my head yes and awaited an answer. “You are in a cell.” He answered and then laughed vigorously with his friend. They then walked off taking any vital information I needed with them. “Dammit!” I groaned. There were no other visitors for what seemed like days. I waited and waited. During my solitary confinement I thought mostly of Link. “He must be worried sick.” I thought to myself. I couldn’t help but smile at his overprotectiveness.” I knew that he cared but he needs to stop being so stubborn.” I thought to myself. I couldn’t help but look back on the moment I last saw him. He had been so angry. In truth I was surprised by his sudden aggressive tones but deep down I knew it wasn’t him. He was being this way for a reason…. A reason that he surely won’t tell me about. “What is going on with him?” I asked myself. I noticed that he seemed to act differently after getting separated in Death Mountain, but I didn’t take it so heavily. Suddenly the sound of a gate or some sort of door creaked open and then shut down the hall. I straightened and leaned closer towards the bars of my cell. Unfortunately my chained leg wouldn’t let me even a foot closer towards the bar to get a better look at was coming, so I waited to see who had come for me. “She’s just down the hall in the last cell.” A rough voice stated near the door. “She better be! Otherwise Lord Ganondorf will have all of your heads for calling him out here for nothing!” Another voice shouted. “But lucky for you he sent me to confirm that the prisoner is in fact the Princess, so you get to live for another day for now.” The voice added. “It’s her I am sure of it.” The other voice confirmed. “We shall see.” One of them stated. I could hear the clinking keys as they walked down the hall towards my cell. When they reached it I saw that there were two men. One was a regular Geurdo warrior in his notable armor, but the other man was someone I could never forget. It was Ganon’s right hand man, Argoth. He seemed just as cruel and malicious as the last time I saw him. I shuddered involuntarily at the sight of him. But there was something slightly different about him. He stepped closer to the cell and grinned. “I see you recognize me Princess.” He chuckled as he fiddled with the keys. He turned his head to the right to revel a new scar that adorned his face. The scar reached from the upper left corner of his face and dragged all the way down to his chin. “See this?” He asked as he pointed sharply at his face. “I got this because you escaped the last time we saw each other, thanks to Lord Ganondorf, I think it’s only natural to return the favor.” Argoth laughed as he unlocked the cell and stepped inside. The other Gerudo warrior stood by and watched nervously as Argoth walked towards me. I scooted away from him and curled up into a ball in order to get away but my shackle kept me from going anywhere. “You think you can hide from me? Oh poor little princess, you can’t! We will always find you. Just wait until Ganondorf finds out we have you. He will be so pleased!” Argoth explained as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me up. I refused to cooperate and brought my weight down as I tried to sit. Argoth then fell forward and hit his nose of the concrete wall. As he cried out in pain I kicked him in the stomach. Argoth simultaneously held is nose and stomach in pain as he fell back and landed on his bottom. The other Gerudo warrior that Argoth came with quickly drew his sword and entered the cell. The warrior then grabbed me by my hair and pulled my head harshly back. He then threw my head against the ground. When my skull came into contact with the floor everything seemed to be in slow motion. My vision blurred and my ears rung as I laid still on the ground. I couldn’t move, the hit to my head made me panic. In the midst of the ringing I could hear Argoth swear as he sat up and removed his hand from his face. Blood dripped from his nostrils and the bridge of his nose looked crooked. I couldn’t help but feel triumphant at the look at Argoth’s broken nose. He then stood up and roughly kicked me in the side. “Just you wait, when Ganondorf gets his hands on you. Then not even your clad in green can save you.” Argoth laughed as he stepped out of the cell and locked it behind him. I couldn’t help but panic now. The enemy knew about Link. “But do they know he holds a piece of the Triforce?” I asked myself. “See to it that she doesn’t have food or water till Ganondorf gets here.” Argoth instructed to the Gerudo he came with. “Yes sir.” The guard stated. I tried to compose myself by rubbing my eyes or steadying my breathing but everything seemed so surreal. My head hurt tremendously and I could barely think straight. I pressed the palm of my hand against my temple and felt hot liquid. Once I brought my hand towards my face to see what it was I realized that it was blood, and a lot of it. “This is bad.” I thought to myself. I was losing a lot of blood, and feeling rather tired. So with the last reminisce of my strength I tore a piece of my shirt and pressed it against the wound on my head to staunch the bleeding. I could feel how the loss of blood was affecting me. My eyes were closing by themselves and my head was drooping. I moved my position so that I was lying on the floor. I tried to return my thought to good things, Link. “He will come.” I whispered to myself. “He always does.” I added before I felt my eyes close completely and drowsiness take me.
