Fate? Psh what's that?

Passion? Never heard of it.

Soulmates? Fake.

Love? A figment of the imagination.

Those are the answers anyone would've gotten from you if they'd asked those questions a month prior to now. Most people right now are asking, "A month prior?". My answer is obviously yes because it has been exactly one month (give or take a few hours) since you ran into a beanpole of a man named David.

He knew what he wanted in life, he created aspirations and fantasies for his future while planning on achieving them in the long run. He spoke his mind regularly, even if it made him sound like a fool most of the time. He craved to share his insight with the world, his feelings. You dreamed (and still sometimes dream) of owning half the heart he had when he spoke about something he was passionate of. He was a lavish character it seemed, giving way more than he could ever receive. He shared his love of music, he shared his emotions directed toward gaming, he shared everything.

You were his polar opposite before you met him. You didn't know what you wanted to do with your life, there were too many options. You tried many things but you were never passionate about them. For example, you tried to go to college for a degree in physics since you'd come to like it but you quit halfway through the first year because you grew bored of it. You kept to yourself, never sharing your opinions unless you were asked to. You never gave and you never received. You stayed on your own little island, making due with whatever you had. You cherished your time spent alone, in solitude. You only had one companion and that was your beta fish named Leviathan. Now when I say you didn't have a passion, I don't mean you hated everything. You did have hobbies but you never thought that you'd ever be able to make a living from them.

David was confusing to you, just as much as you were to him. He could not for the life of him understand why you wanted to be alone, he expressed how much he hated it to you multiple times. As for you, you could not for the life of you figure out how he had a better idea of what to do with himself than you with yourself, you would always crease your brow when he started talking about what he planned to do. You envied and admired him for it though you'd never admit it.

How you met was under the cutest of circumstances. It happened on a cold October day in Dublin, Ireland. Dublin was the place you moved to after quitting college in America and got bored of the scenery. You thought it was beautiful, Dublin, which is one of the reasons you still live here, that and you met David here.

You were dressed in a purple, brown, black and orange striped long sleeve shirt, black leggings, a black scarf, and black fall booties. You had your hair done just the way you liked and your makeup done to match your outfit. It was chilly on your commute home from the library a few blocks from your place so you decided to stop in a small mom-and-pop coffee shop. Fate was working her magic that day because it just so happened to be the same coffee shop David was meeting his friend Brian at.

You ordered your drink and stood in the queue with the other people who were waiting for their drinks, playing around mindlessly on your phone. You didn't notice anyone around you, let alone the giant man standing next to you who also playing on his phone. Once your drinks were made, your names where both called at the same time and your drinks were set down next to one another. You two never looked up from your phones as you both reached forward and grabbed the disposable cups. It was almost in perfect unison as you both stepped off the side and took a sip of your drinks. You literally almost spit yours out when you tasted the straight black coffee, you hated that it had nothing in it. It was bitter and bland. You heard a surprised splutter from next to you and looked over to see the chest of another human being, you trailed your eyes all the way up until they met the deep brown eyes of the male next to you. You quickly glanced down to see your cup had the name David written elegantly in sharpie before looking at the cup in his hand that read (Y/N) in the same beautiful handwriting.
