I curl into myself a little bit more and quietly cry. The sound of the front door opening scares me enough to the point where I shift. Now, I don't shift a whole bunch but when I do, it's complete and utter pain. I feel each bone in my body breaking and I gasp, holding back my screams as I crumple onto the floor. There's a knock at my bedroom door. My bones rearrange themselves, mending back together. At this point I look like a hairless wolf. My hair grows at rapid speed and finally, I look like a regular wolf. I growl at myself, causing the door knob to twist and Mari's voice come from the other side of the door.

"(Y/N)?" I freak out at this point, trying to find a place to hide but that's kind of hard to do when you're a giant fudging wolf in a tiny fudging bedroom. I could shift back but I don't want to experience the pain at the moment and I don't want to explain why I'm laying on the floor naked with tons of shed fur around me. The door opens before I can stop it and Mari walks in, turning on the light. She freezes as soon as she sees me. "(Y/N)?" She repeats.

I go to talk to her but stop, nodding my head. She most likely doesn't even understand Lycanthrope. She gasps, making a couple faces before letting out a breathy laugh. She puts a hand to her forehead for a second before letting it drop to her side. She shakily points to me before her eyes roll back into her head and she faints. I catch her on my back before she hits the floor. I throw her body onto my bed and make a snuffling sound, shifting back.

I catch my breath, sitting on all fours on the ground. I cough and stand up, heading to my closet to grab some new clothes since the ones I was wearing are now bits of fabric and denim on the floor. I grab a pair of grey joggers and a black tank top as well as fuzzy socks and underwear and quickly put them on. I turn around and look at Mari, sighing. I walk into the main hallway and head to our cleaning supply closet. I grab our vacuum and walk back into my room. I plug it in and start it up, sucking up all the hair I left behind. I suck up my shredded clothes as well. Mari wakes up as soon as I finish cleaning up, rubbing her head. She looks at me and I stare back at her.

"Was that a dream?" She asks me and I play the dumb card.

"Was what a dream?" I ask, unplugging the vacuum and rolling it back to the closet. She follows me.

"Are you really a werewolf?" I pause. Do I tell her? "I mean you're pretty obvious but... really? They exist?!?" Yep, probably should tell her.

"You promise to keep this a secret?" I turn to face her and she nods vigorously. "Well... yeah, I am. But, not to be rude or anything, we're called Lycanthropes. Oh, and yes, we do exist." I put the vacuum away. She nods, seemingly taking this all very well.

"Is that why you-" She cuts herself off.

I finish for her. "Rejected Bryce? Yeah." She nods, biting her bottom lip.

"I feel like an ass." She mutters suddenly. I look back at her, while heading to the kitchen. Shifting twice in one day makes you hungry.

"How come?" I ask, raiding the fridge for things to make a sandwich.

"Because I tried to force you two together. Poor Bryce..." She trails off again. I tense when she says his name. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm head of heals for him. I've only known him for a few hours and yet it feels like lifetimes. I'm trying so hard to shove my feelings into a tiny box and into the back of my brain but they keep coming back up. She must've seen me tense up while chopping up lettuce for my sandwich. "Not that I don't care about how you're feeling! It's just I bumped into him with the boys on our way back from getting pizza and he looked so... heartbroken." I tense even further. She's not helping her case. "What happened between you two?" I take the knife and point it toward her bedroom door.
