Max noticed Nathan looked very upset when he walked past him. "Nath!"

Nathan turned to Max and tried to look like he was okay.

Max pulled him into the corner by the balcony glass doors. "What's wrong bro?" he said rubbing Nathan's ear between his thumb and index finger.

Nathan let some tears slide down. "It's Jay. I am trying to be strong."

Max pulled Nathan in for a hug. Nathan cried on Max's chest. "Shhh it's okay little bro."

Siva came over to check on them. "What is going on?"

"It's okay Seev. He just needs a little cry."

"Why don't you go on the balcony and get some air. We will stand guard." Siva suggested.

Nathan nodded then stepped outside.

Siva gave Max a look. "What is that look for?"

"You should tell him." Siva said sternly.

Max rolled his eyes. "What good would that do?"

Siva crossed his arms. "If he knew you were in Jay's ear, maybe he would understand the situation a bit better."

Max shook his head. "It is not going to change Jay. If I didn't say something, someone else would have OR he would have talked himself out of it Seev. You know it is true."

Siva shrugged. "That could be true, but he didn't talk himself out of it on his own Max. You should think about it."

Max looked at Nathan out on the balcony. He loved him so much and never meant to hurt him. He knew what he had to do.

Nathan quickly wiped his tears and tried to get himself together when he heard the glass doors slide open.

"It's just me bro." Max said.

Nathan sighed in relief. "Good. I didn't feel like dealing with anyone right now. Do you reckon I could escape this party without anyone knowing?"

Max forced a smile. "If Scooter has anything to do with it, you may have a chance."

Nathan shook his head. "I don't want him knowing I am upset. I promised everyone it was going to be okay. I just had a little slip up is all."

Max swallowed hard. "Um Nath. I need to talk to you about something."

"Sure. Is everything okay?"

Max shrugged. "Well, not really."

Nathan looked worried. "You are freaking me out mate."

Max stood beside him on the balcony and looked out on London lit up at night. "So pretty at night isn't it?"

"Max? What is it?"

Max turned to him. "Well, I think I know why Jay freaked out."

Nathan sighed. "Max, we both know him. He is easily freaked out."

Max nodded. "Yes, but...."

"I am done psycho analyzing him mate. Trying to figure him out doesn't stop him from hurting me. Knowing why he hurt me isn't going to change it."

"I said something to him." Max said a bit louder than he intended. He just couldn't take Nathan interrupting him. He needed to get it out before he chickened out.

"What?" Nathan asked with a confused look on his face.

"I sort of said some things to him."

Nathan had a bit of an annoyed face on. That was the face Max was hoping would not appear. "What sort of things?"
