AC's POV
I ditched my afternoon sched classes because I'll watch Bea's game. Nagdahilan lang ako sa guard ng school namin and I know my parents will eventually know this one. Pero it's Beatriz, kaya wala na akong pakialam with my punishment. After all, this will be her last game and I'm sure kung gano ito kaimportante sa kanya.
"Too early, ah." As usual, Bea gave me a kiss on my forehead. Pero yung sarcasm niya talaga ang sobrang nagpakilig sakin.
I greeted her friends and sit next to them. Hindi pa naman sila Bea ang maglalaro so she joined us first.
"Too hot!" Reklamo ni Bianca na nakakuha ng atensyon ni Beatriz.
She gave her a bottled water and lend her a small towel.
Mainit kasi talaga sa loob since hindi aircon yung gym na paglalaruan nila.
"Thanks, Bei." Bianca smiles at Bea and the latter is really happy, I can say.
'Tapos iiyak-iyak na naman later.' I thought bitterly pero nagpanggap nalang akong busy manuod ng game.
After awhile yung team naman nila Bea ang naglaro and I can see that every timeout, Bea's eyes are busy searching for Bianca.
Double punishment ba ang makukuha ko sa pagpunta dito? Great!
After their game, Beatriz hurriedly runs to me. She hugs me tightly while wearing her full smile. Halatang-halatang sobrang saya niya sa pagkakapanalo nila. It's a non-bearing game pero at least they played well on their last game.
"Bat ako yung una mong niyakap hindi si Bianca?" We are on our way home now, we just had dinner with her friends.
"I'm too sweaty pa, eh. Of course, I huged her after I took shower." She said it confidently.
Wow ha! Best friend ko ba talaga to?
"Kainis." She heard it kahit na pabulong lang na ikinatawa niya.
"Joke lang. Of course, best friend ko muna before anything else. Sanay ka naman sa pawis ko. Aarte ka pa ba?" Inipit niya pa ang ulo ko sa kili-kili niya. How sweet? No!
Best friend, yun ang role ko sa buhay niya. Nothing more and nothing less. And I need to accept that, dun naman kami nagsimula, di ba? I'm used to it. I will be used to it.
Bea's POV
"Why don't you try trying out in Ateneo too?" AC suggested na ikinagulat ko. Seryoso ba siya? I can't believe her.
"Are you out of your mind?" Tiningnan ko siya habang hinihintay na sabihin niyang she's joking.
"Try lang naman. For experience ganun." She explained.
"Loyal kaya ako." Inakbayan ko siya at naglakad na kami papasok ng bahay namin.
"OA nito. Trying out with other teams will not make you less loyal." Depensa niya na ikinataas ng kilay ko.
"Ano lang?"
"Looking for experience." Simple niyang sagot.
Pero she's right. I got nothing to lose naman if I try, right?
"Let's try out together then." I challenge her while smiling widely.
"I like your idea." She flashes a smile to and gave me a high five.
Saturday that week, we went to Ateneo to try out.
"Ate Ly!" AC shouted when we saw Alyssa Valdez walking inside Blue Eagle Gym.
