AC's POV
"OMG! Ikaw lang talaga? Baka naman may kadate ka dun." Ate Kim reacted when I told them na I'm going to Batangas for my 'me time'.
I usually do this naman before kasi it's my way of unwinding. Pero this time may kasama na siyang preparation for my birthday surprise for Beatriz. Di ko kasi magawa-gawa because often times, we are together.
"You can go there to check me, but don't go near me, ah. Solo travel to." I laugh then I looked at Beatriz na seryoso lang nakikinig kasi sanay na siya sa ganito.
"OMG! I'm so inggit. Ikaw na ang travel goals." Ate Ana is eating pero nakatingin sakin.
Actually, ate Kim and ate Jho knows na dun ko tatapusin yung surprise ko kay Bea. Sila lang ang nakakaalam kasi mahirap na baka may madulas pa kay Bea.
Dumating na si coach Tai kaya naglakad na sila papunta sa court.
Ibang-iba na ang itsura ng team ngayon. Wala na yung naabutan kong players simula nung naging close ako sa team. Senior na si Beatriz. Yung dating fan ng rival team namin, team captain na ngayon. Yung babaeng pinilit ko lang magtry out noon, all out na kung magbigay sa team ngayon.
Nag-iba man ang mukha ng team ngayon, one thing is for sure. They have the same goals and that is to play for the school, for the love of the sport and of course to give Ateneo the crown.
Many are saying na baka wala ng pag-asa kasi na wala na yung play maker nila na si ate Jia. Magttwo years na rin na wala si Alyssa Valdez na puntahan ng bola kapag crucial point. And ang daming nawala, ang daming nagbago. But my trust and faith is nasa team pa rin.
"How about my birthday?" Bea asked nung papasok na ako ng sasakyan.
"Hahabol ako. Hindi pwedeng hindi." I assured her. Gladly, she nodded naman.
"Take care there. I will miss you." She kisses my forehead. "I love you!" She whispers na nagpawala na naman ng mga butterflies sa tiyan ko.
"I will. I love you too." I started the engine after she closed the door.
"Bye, guys! Love you!" I opened the window and wave to the team.
"Take care, AC! Have fun there! Love yaaaa!" Ponggay shouted. She even gave me a flying kiss.
"Are you sure na okay ka lang?" Bea lean on the window.
"Yup. So you better be good here." I pinched her cheeks na ikinangiwi niya. "Ang daming mata ang magmamasid sayo. Behave."
She just chuckles and mess my hair. Nung nag step back na siya, I closed the door already and started driving.
Malapit ng lumubog ang araw nung nakarating ako sa Pico Sands Hotel kaya after ko magcheck in lumabas agad ako.
I know sunset is now overrated pero it will always have a place in my heart.
Habang papalubog ang araw mas lumalalim din ang nasa isip ko. Ang dami ring pumapasok sa utak ko na parang any moment pwede akong malunod.
