Ch. 16: A Close One

Kihyun

~hospital~

*heart monitor sounds*

"Hyungwon, turn off the lights. It's hurting my eyes," I groaned as I opened my eyes slowly. No one responded. Blinking slowly, I looked around and saw that I was in a hospital. I shifted in the bed to get more comfortable but couldn't move freely. Hyungwon was sleeping with his head resting against my thigh while sitting in a chair. On my other side, Mochi was sleeping with his head on my stomach. "Hyungwon." He does not move an inch in response. "HYUNGWON-AH," I said as loudly as I could muster. Still no response. I flicked him in the forehead to wake him up.

"OW!!!!! Who did that," he shouts while rubbing his eyes.

"I did," I said after crossing my arms.

"Hyung! You're awake. Let me go get the doctor," he says before rushing out of the room. Mochi wakes up and barks cheerfully. He comes closer to me, and lays between my body and my left arm. He then presses his nose aganist my cheek and whines.

"Mochi<3," I cooed to which he licks my cheek and barks lightly as if he was afraid that loud barks would annoy me. I started to pet him when Hyungwon comes bursting in with a young doctor following behind him.

"Yoo Kihyun-ssi, you're awake. How are you feeling," he asks while checking the heart monitor and my charts.

"Mmm, okay. This time was not as bad," I replied. The doctor nods before writing some things down on my chart. Hyungwon picks up Mochi so he wasn't in the way of the doctor's inspection.

"Do you remember to take your medicine," he asks while looking into my eyes.

"Yeah, just missed last night's as I got myself stuck inside the restaurant's fridge. Oh and I think I am due for a refill."

"Well be sure to have it on you at all times. We do not want you to be in pain. The cold made you pass out so you probably did not feel the pain that much so that is probably why you think that... I will have the nurse bring you your refill," he states.

"Right. So when am I clear to leave?"

" Mmmm... from what I can see, your condition right now is stable again. But, just in case, you can check out as soon as the results come in from some tests," he replies.

"Ahh, thank you." The doctor nods and leaves the room. Hyungwon sits down after putting Mochi back on the bed.

"Hyung, you really scared me. You were barely breathing. I thought the worst and..," he sniffs.

"Pabo, you really think you can write me off that easily," I said while smiling.

"..."

"Where's that muscle bounded rock? He was in that fridge with me," I asked.

"Huh? He was here earlier but I fell asleep so I do not know where he is."

Little did they know, Hyunwoo was watching from the window for a few minutes before leaving.
