"I...yeah," I answered as I let go of the door handle shutting the world out.

He gestures for me to sit down across from him and linked his fingers together. I nodded and sat down.

"Look, this...," I said as I didn't want to talk to him for long because for if I do, I would want to just give in.

"No. Please let me speak," he says adamantly while pointing a finger down on the table. At the sudden emergence of assertiveness from the usually expressionless male, I held my tongue and waited for him to continue.

"Thank you," he says before taking a deep breath and continuing to say, "I'll just cut straight to the chase...I think we started off on the wrong foot.  Perhaps, that day was not the right timing to confess, but I do not regret it."

"It..."

"I understand that...you may not want to date me for reasons that I cannot begin to comprehend, but couldn't you give me a chance to date you...to love you or could you take a chance on me," he asks with a sincere look on his face. He reaches out and grabs onto my left hand before waiting for me to respond.

Millions of thoughts coursed through my mind. My heart ached for me to say yes but my mind begged to differ. Who should I listen too? On one hand, I didn't want to let him in. And, on the other, I wanted nothing more than to jump into his arms and kiss him breathless. At the extent of my silence, he lets go of my hand and leans back in his chair.

"You don't have to give me an clear and concise answer now. I will not put you on the spot," he says before pushing back his chair and got up to leave. Stunned, I just stared at his now empty chair as to make such a decision doesn't take a small amount of them. Yet, as soon as he walked past me, I grabbed onto his forearm. He pauses but does not turn around.

"Yes," I whispered as I decided to let my heart feel the 'relief,' and love that it desired.
