Hyunwoo

~two days later~

~at the gym~

Hoseok hasn't said a word as we started our usual routine at the gym. The air that he usually carries was absent for the most part.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, why do you ask?"

"Well....you have been acting different today..."

"People change their moods all the time," he snorts half heartedly.

"...I guess," I replied as I lifted weights.

"Hyung..."

"Yeah?"

"I...," he starts to say, but bites his lower lip.

"Just spit it out. You can talk to me about anything."

"Nah, it's nothing really," he says.

"You sure?"

"Yep."

Kihyun

~the next day~

Hoseok hasn't come over to the restaurant lately nor has he sent me text messages. This was quite odd as the male would always be around. I started to feel worried that something happened to him. "Maybe, he decided to go on a diet or found someone or something," I thought to myself as I finished the last dish before lunch service ends.

Maybe I should make something for him to eat and go over to his place to be sure that he is okay. Doing just that, I made some fried rice and was about to head out the door with it all packed up when Hyunwoo stopped me at the door.

"Where are you going? You didn't even eat lunch yet," he says with concern in his eyes.

"Hmm? It's just that Hoseok hasn't been in contact with me for a while. I just wanted to go make sure that he isn't dying from only eating ramen and drinking protein shakes," I said with a shrug.

"...okay," he says. Something flashed across his eyes that bothered me, so I stared at him for a bit to try to determine what he was thinking. "Is there something on my face?"

"Hmm, not exactly," I said in an unsure voice. Is it uncertainty?

"Well then, you better get going if you want to make it back on time and get to eat lunch too," he says suddenly which disbursed my examination.

"Mmm~, alright," I said. I'll figure it out later...

~at Hoseok's place~

I knocked on the door while balancing on the balls of my feet and waited for Hoseok to come open the door.  When he didn't come to the door, I started to feel a bit antsy. I knocked harder and pressed the doorbell three times. Seconds later, a disheveled Hoseok opens the door and looks at us with shock written all over his face.

"Did I miss something," he asks with sleep lingering in his voice.

"No, you just didn't bother me recently like usual, so  I was worried and came over," I said as I gave him a once over to make sure that he was okay.

He snorts and says while leaning against his door frame with his arms crossed, "I'm fine. Healthy as a horse. As for the lack of communication, I was busy with work. I got put in charge of making choreographies for this new boy group that my company is debuting."

"Oh, really? Got me worried for nothing," I said and pinched his arm for good measure. He winces, but doesn't whine about it. He looks over my shoulders, and then looks back at me with a weird look on his face. Puzzled, I looked back to see what he was looking at that caused him to pull such a face, but there wasn't anything unusual.

"Is that for me," Hoseok asks and points to the black and red checkered tote that I was carrying.

"Hmm, yeah. You haven't been by the restaurant, so I didn't get the chance to give you some home cooked food," I said as I turned back to look at him. He takes the bag from me, but not before placing his hand on my shoulder for a few seconds.

"Oh, thank you. Also, I think I still have the lunch boxes from last time," he says as he walked back into his apartment. I followed him in and closed the door behind me. Baozi comes barking lightly and nipped at my pant leg. I squatted down and petted the small Shiba Inu before picking him up to look for his owner. Hoseok takes out the new lunch boxes I brought and puts the old ones into the tote bag. Baozi licks my cheek a few times before  trying to get out of my hold. So, I put him down and watched him scurry off somewhere.

"Here. There is also some containers from the side dishes too, but I didn't wash them yet," he says as he handed me the bag of empty dishes.

"Really? Just give them to me. I'll wash them later," I said as  I attempted to take them from him. Yet, for some reason, he held onto them not letting them go.

"Kihyun ah...," he says.

"What,"  I asked curiously as he only called me by my real name when he wants to be serious.

"Do you ever think about...," he asks while looking into my eyes with a sincere look, but stops for some unknown reason.

"About what?"

"....I forgot," he replies and merongs me like a child.

Hoseok

"Ugh, I nearly thought you...Well, you can tell me some time later. I have to go back to work," he says as he headed to the door.

"Okay," I said as I followed him.

"Don't drop out of contact, okay? Eomma told me to keep an eye on you," he states.

"Yes. Yes. Don't worry. I will. Don't be such a worrywart," I laughed.

"Hmm, we'll see...Okay. Bye."

"Bye bye, Ki Ki," I shouted.

"Bye, Bun Bun~"

After he left, I let out a sigh of relief, and plopped onto my couch. Seeing him again almost made me change my mind, but it didn't. It is time to move on...
