Hyunwoo

~after dinner~

On my way back from the bathroom, I heard Kihyun and my parents laughing loudly. Puzzled, I walked faster into the room to see what was going on. My parents were sitting on either side of Kihyun pointing at something on the coffee table. As I got closer, I learned that they were looking at a photo album...more specifically my photo album from when I was a child.

"Mom! Dad! How can you show that to him," I groaned.

"Honestly, I don't know what happened to him. He used to be so cute, used to follow me around like a duckling, and let me dress him up. Now, look at him. Where did my teddy bear go? Isn't that right, honey," my mother asks my father who in turn shrugged. I sighed deeply before I sat down on an armchair. Kihyun and I locked eyes for a moment before he started laughing uncontrollably.

"What? Don't tell me you saw..," I started to say as I watched Kihyun wipe tears from his eyes.

"You looked so pretty. I swear," Kihyun cackles as he points at a picture of 10 year old me in a dress and with makeup on that I stupidly allowed my mother to do to me back then.

This is going to be a long day...

~two hours later~

"Oh my lord. Look at what time it is. I hope that you didn't mind that we kept you here until now," my father laughed and placed a hand on Kihyun's shoulder.

"Ah, I don't mind at all. Tonight was lovely, Mr. Son," Kihyun says.

"Call me, Dad. You make me feel like an old geezer. I get enough of that at work. Plus, you are dating my son so you have the right to call me, Dad," my father smiles.

"I don't...," Kihyun began to say before my father waved him off. "Right,....Dad," Kihyun stutters and blushes madly for the hundredth time tonight.

"Well, don't let us keep you two here. Go on now. The night is still young," my father says with a wink.

" ....okay. It was very nice to meet you two officially. Dinner was delicious," Kihyun says.

"And so was it for us, Kihyun ah. Feel free to come here anytime," my mother says before pinching Kihyun's cheek.

"Good night, Dad and Mom," Kihyun says shyly before bowing to them.

"Good night, Kihyun ah~," my parents said at the same time before sharing a knowing look.

"Night, Dad and Mom," I said afterwards.

~outside in the car on the way back to Kihyun's apartment~

"Ahhh, that was so nerve wrecking," Kihyun as I turned onto the road.

"Relax. I am sure that they loved you. They even showed you my old pictures on the first day you meet them officially," I chuckled as I watched him fidget from the corner of my eye.

"Are you sure? I mean... I stuttered so much and...you know," he says quickly.

"I'm sure."

"Totally thought they would like yell at me, splash water at my face, throw me a white envolope with money, and then tell me to never see you again."

"You watch too many dramas. No rich family is like how they depict them....At least,  I would like to think so," I said with my head tilted slightly.

"Sure," he snorts. I smacked him playfully on the thigh. He glares at me and smacks me on the arm with the same force. Then, I smacked him back lightly. This repeats multiple times until I said truce as this would have gone on longer than necessary if I didn't.  He laughs at how childish we were being before smiling sweetly. I returned his smile.

Then, I  placed the hand that wasn't on the steering wheel on top of his left hand, and squeezed it briefly.  He intertwines our fingers, and didn't say anything verbally. He didn't need too. I knew what he was saying silently, and he knows that I feel the same way.
