Hyunwoo
~a few days later~
~in the garden at the hospital~
Life has been a blur for the last couple days. Dr. Park and her team have came by multiple times to run tests and trying different treatments. All of which was of no avail. Eventually, Kihyun refused to let them do anymore tests despite what Dr. Park and I said. He said that he didn't want to play guinea pig anymore.
"Hyung," Kihyun says softly, and flicks my forehead lightly.
"Huh? Oh, sorry," I said with a small smile that didn't quite reach my eyes.
"Hmm, the weather is so nice today~," he says in a sing songy voice, and presses himself against me more. I tighten my hold on him, but not too much in fear that I would hurt him. He plays with my fingers for a few minutes before intertwining our hands and held our joined hands above our heads for a few seconds. I chuckled lightly and pressed a kiss to the crown of his head.
In front of us, there were a group of kids playing soccer. Several nurses were watching them play and cheering them on. Kihyun starts to cough lightly. He pulls away from me and covers his mouth with his sleeve. I patted his back softly until he stopped. He takes an exasperated breath before leaning against me again.
"Are you okay," I asked as I took the blanket from the wheelchair and draped it over his shoulders.
He brings it closer around him and says, "I'm fine."
"Okay," I said and tried to not let uncertainty be heard in my voice.
"Aish, I miss it," a little boy screams as the soccer ball the kids were playing with rolls off the field toward us. It rolls all the way to us. Kihyun reaches down and picks up the ball.
"Hyung, can you gimme my ball," the boy shouts and waves his arms above his head. Kihyun chuckles and gets off the bench before making his way over which had made the blanket drop onto the bench. Kihyun lightly passes the ball to the little boy.
"Thank you," the boy says before running off. Kihyun turns around with a small smile on his face, and starts to walk back to me. When he was half way back, he lets out a cry and collapses.
"Kihyun ah," I shouted and sprinted over to him.
"It hurts, Hyung. It hurts so much," he groans in pain.
Wordlessly and hastily, I picked him up. I put him onto the wheelchair, and rolled him back into the ICU.
"Someone please! Dr. Park! Help my fiance," I shouted as soon as I entered.
*door bangs open*
Dr. Park comes running. She takes one look at us and told me to bring Kihyun back to his room. She barks out orders to the nurses nearby before joining us in the room with a cart. The nurses pull out a bottle of some kind of medicine, a syringe, an alcohol wipe, and several other things from the cart. They hand them to Dr. Park. She motions for the nurse to put him on the bed. They did.
She peels open the wrapper that held the syringe, took it out, and inserted it into the bottle. She pulls the plunger back before pulling the syringe out. She flicks the barrel twice and pushes on the plunger flange slightly, so some of the medicine squirted out. She injects it into a vein in the inside of his elbow. Kihyun slowly starts to relax, but he still is grimacing a bit.
Dr. Park puts in an IV drip into him and checked his vitals. One of the nurses picks up everything and exits the room with them. The other nurse gave me a sympathetic smile before exiting the room too.
